Dear colleagues,

I am translating a text about ITIL and saw that ITIL provides a free glossary that can be found on this page.

I would like to turn this into a kind of glossary, preferably to be opened and used in memoQ. I would be very grateful for any ideas on how to do this. I tried adding it as LiveDoc but in

I am translating a text about ITIL and saw that ITIL provides a free glossary that can be found on this page.

I would like to turn this into a kind of glossary, preferably to be opened and used in memoQ. I would be very grateful for any ideas on how to do this. I tried adding it as LiveDoc but in memoQ it appears scrambled and I don't really know how to search in it. Copying it into an Excel file with "Select All" seems to be impossible. What else could I try?

PDF-to-memoQ process Aug 6, 2015

1. OCR the first two columns from PDF into MSWord.
2. Make it a 2-column file (one column for source + one for target) without any other fields or headings, without breaks between pages. You need to have a single 2-column table.
3. Convert Table to Text choosing Tab as a delimiter.
As a result, you will have an MSWord file with such content:
acceptance[Tab]Abnahme
access management[Tab]Access Management
accounting[Tab]Kostenrechnung
etc.

4. Save this file with Tab-separated terms as txt
5. Start memoQ, open Termbase view, choose the desired Termbase or create new
6. Click Import from CSV/TMX
7. Choose your txt file
8. In memoQ window, check Tab as a delimiter
9. For F0 check 'Import as term' + choose 'English'
10. For F1 check 'Import as term' + choose 'German'
Click OK
When done, click Close

Problem with first point Aug 6, 2015

Stepan, thank you for your help! Ultimately, after a friendly colleague converted it into word for me, I copied to Excel and imported it into a memoQ Termbase. It worked without a problem!
