I'm always afraid to uninstall a licensed product for fear I won't get it back. But at this point I might not have anything left to lose. I'll be speaking to a trados agent Monday, she might have some ideas.

I tried repair--didn't work unfortunately

I have written to SDL and hope to get an answer at some point.

Thanks for the suggestions anyway

Delete xml files. Mar 25, 2017

With Studio closed, I'd try deleting these 3 xml files:
- BaseSettings.xml
- plugincache.xml
- UserSettings.xml
from this folder:
C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\[12.0.0.0] or [14.0.0.0] (the number depends on whether you're using Studio 2015 or 2017)

When you re-open Studio, it will re-create these 3 files.
