Hi all!

I have just downloaded and installed the shiny new Trados 2009 Studio Service Pack 3 version, upgrading from the existing SP 2 Studio 2009.

Unhappily, upon installation and PC restart, Trados will not open at all. Up pops an error message saying:

I have found threads with similar problems, that require certain files to be deleted, but these files simply haven't been generated in my case.

Does anyone have any idea what is going wrong and how I may work around it?

Any thoughts much appreciated.

p.s. I am using Windows 7.

Hi Joshua,

The files are here in W7;

C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\9.1.0.0\.

BaseSettings.xml
plugincache.xml
UserSettings.xml

Close Studio, delete them, and restart. They will be recreated and it may help.

If you can't see them maybe you have the folder hidden? Go to My Computer, click on Organise... See more

Hi Paul,

You were right! The files were hidden.
I followed your instructions and deleted them. The program is working fine.

Thanks so much for your quick reply.
The solution has come as a great relief.

Joshua
