wygląda na to, że nie jest to tylko wymysł wschodni (por. www.lawsoc.org.uk/dcs/pdf/companylaw_440.pdf)
różnice pomiędzy open i closed company nie dają się bezpośrednio przenieść np. do brytyjskiego/amerykańskiego podziału na public i private companies

niemniej wśród odsyłaczy do (po wyłączeniu "x/open") do "open company" jest ponad 8000 tyś, a do "open stock company" tylko niecałe 400. prym wiodą firmy rosyjskie i szerzej z obszaru WNP

porównanie (po rosyjsku :) cech otwartej i zamkniętej sp. a.:
