Bio
I qualified as a translator and interpreter in 1977 and worked as such immediately after graduation. I then worked for some thirty years in Universities both in the UK and France. I have authored, co-edited, refereed and reviewed books and articles in Spanish, French and English.

At the same time I have worked as a freelance interpreter, most recently as a conference interpreter for the International Council for Game and Wildlife (CIC) at their 56th General Assembly in Paris, April 2009.

I have also translated on a freelance basis, mainly for the luxury hotel and food industry, but also for education and training in addition to multiple smaller contracts.

One unusual specialism is equestrian translation. I own and train a PRE dressage horse, hold a BHSAI qualification and attend clinics with Patrick Print, Chair of the British Horse Society and Pedro Neves, Portugal. I am currently studying Portuguese with a view to expanding my portfolio of languages.

In 2010, I moved to full-time freelance translating and interpreting (with some PhD teaching at the Hellenic University in Athens, Greece and teaching interpreting at Heriot-Watt University).

I have a dual qualification as as a translator from Spanish and French from the Institute of Translation and Interpreting (MITI) and have now been admitted as a Fellow (FITI).

I hold Professional Indemnity Insurance.
