Note: Broken valve springs and defective valve stem seals can be replaced without removing the cylinder head. Several special tools and a compressed air source are normally required to perform this operation, so read through this Section carefully and rent or buy the tools before beginning this job.
1. Refer to Section 7 and remove the camshaft. Remove the valve lifters from the defective valves. Keep the lifters in order so they may be reinstalled in their original location.
