I am a
qualified translator and
language tutor based in my home town of London, with over
ten years’ experience.
I found my love of translation studying
French and Italian at the University of Manchester, and went on to the University of Westminster to take their
Masters in Technical and Specialised Translation. After cutting my teeth as an in-house translation
subtitler, translation
project manager and secondary school
language teacher, I am now very excited about building a unique
freelance career that reflects my experience, skills and interests, and watching it develop as I
expand my knowledge and expertise.
I love the fact that my work keeps me
learning, from pizza dough starters and espresso machines to software strings and even a presidential welcome address. Translating also keeps me abreast of developments in
technology and communication: I have rendered
subtitles, managed
voice-over projects, translated using the
cloud; I am currently learning to
build websites, and last summer I trained on a range of
CAT tools at CenTraS (UCL). And, of course, my job also lets me play with language, offering me the daily satisfaction of finding just the right words to create an
elegant and effective text that works for the client: nothing makes my working day like
positive feedback and I enjoy providing all my clients with a
friendly and efficient service.
If you are looking for a versatile and professional linguist for FR>EN or IT>EN translation work, or perhaps you have another project you are working on that involves my languages or areas of expertise (including teaching), do not hesitate to
get in touch by email
here. I look forward to hearing from you!
