Source text - English Let’s begin with the myth that Europe is “mined out”.
Despite its centuries of mineral extraction a quick geological overview based on existing geological data shows that Europe still has considerable mineral potential. [...]
In Europe a number of regions can be identified that have had and continue to have high mineral potential: the old Fenno-Scandian Shield in northern Europe, the Irish deposits, the Russian shield in the Ukraine, the Iberian belt, the Carpathians and the Balkans. But these are only the metal ores; on the other hand we have the very young “plains” which are filled with sediments.
Not to mention the energy related minerals (gas, oil, coal, lignite, oil shale, etc.) whose extraction in Europe is more under threat from policies today, then from geological availability.

W Europie można wskazać kilka regionów, które miały i mają wysoki potencjał mineralny: stara Tarcza Fennoskandzka w północnej Europie, złoża irlandzkie, Tarcza Rosyjska na Ukrainie, Pas Iberyjski, Karpaty i Bałkany. Są tam jednak tylko rudy metali. Jednocześnie mamy bardzo młode "równiny" wypełnione osadami.
