The investment in membership has consistently paid itself off, both through new clients and perhaps even more importantly access to the Blue Board.

I have paid for full membership at the beginning of this year, and answering KudoZ questions, following and participating in the forums, and attending a recent powwow has been very profitable, both in terms of new jobs (usually offered to me through visualization of my profile, more rarely from bids) and contacts. I am happy with the results so far.

I found ProZ.com quite useful initially (the term search, KudoZ, the glossaries, etc.), but it really came into its own when I became a paying member. Now, nearly all of my jobs come through my ProZ.com profile, and through repeat requests from regular clients, and I can't remember the last time I actually bid for a job.

The Blue Board is extremely useful for filtering out undesirable clients (bad/slow payers) - a feature that is only available to full members, but it is worth its weight in gold.

I started as a non-member and got practically no jobs. After I purchased the membership, the first project already covered it.

I became a ProZ.com paying member this year and it has proven to be the smartest business decision I have made in the past 10 years.

This past year has been great. I woke up one morning deciding to go back to translating full time but I was not 100% sure that my decision was the right one.
