German language Apr 16, 2017

I am learning German. For some reason, it is very intriguing when I hear people speaking. If you have any suggestions to learn it online, please share.

Always planning to learn a new language (I can speak a bit a portuguese, so it would be a good idea to go continue, or maybe italian, or catalan...).

As I said last year when this same question was asked: I'm learning not exactly a new language, but I have been trying to improve my level of Italian. I must say that it was much easier in Brussels than in Lisbon (I moved back last year) as there (thanks to a large Italian population) Italian magazines and newspapers were largely available and I could watch RAI (Uno, Due and Tre) programmes…

No - got my hands full Apr 16, 2017

I don't have time for anything in my life anymore.

The last language I tried to learn was Japanese, 20 years ago.

I do try to brush up my French whenever I get a chance.

Hi all,
After carefully looking at capital cities in Europe I wanted to live in, I chose Budapest - therefore I have been actively learning Hungarian on the side of my translation and interpreting jobs.

I am loving it and it is really true what they say - although this is a very hard language to learn, the process feels very smooth and I understand rules and grammar with ease - the learning process of a new language gets so much easier.

I have French A, English B and Spanish C - so this is the third language that I am properly learning from scratch.

Well, I learned my fifth language Japanese living in Japan with all the support one can get by the way of learning the language of the land. Later after returning to India I wanted to try to learn a foreign language to find out the difference between the two situations i.e. when you learn a language of the land you are living on and when you learn a foreign language that is barely used in daily life of the inhabitants. French in my case. And I found it extremely difficult to practice the language once I finished my school course. As we know practice makes perfect.

I am most interested in spoken part of the language and that is absolutely difficult here in New Delhi to find out the occasions to brush up your French. As for reading is concerned I can do immense reading on the websites. But as I told my wish is to gain the competence in hearing and speaking aspect of the language. May a day will come when my dream will come true.

Happy Easter to all!

I have been learning it off and on for the last 5 years as my 5th language but as it is quite complex and I don't have much time, it is a slow process with many extended gaps in between.

Japanese Apr 16, 2017

All of the languages I already know are from the European area (Romance, Slavic, Germanic languages plus modern Greek) so I wanted to challenge myself with something completely different. Japanese is great fun to learn!
