Source text - English Lots of animals have a special solution to protect their paws and feet from the hot and cold. Unlike human beings. Instead, we use our intellect to invent solutions just as clever as nature’s. So we can keep our feet perfectly comfortable, in all conditions.
THE TIGER is perfectly suited to conditions in hot parts of the world. To regulate body heat it flattens the hairs in the topcoat, thus allowing unneeded heat to escape.
THE WOLF lives in hot and cold climates. To protect itself from heat, it tiptoes. This reduces the area of the foot that comes into contact with the hot ground underneath. It also deals with extreme cold: by using its blood circulation as a heat exchanger.
Even though GORE-TEX® shoes are totally waterproof, we still recommend using an impregnation spray as this has a number
of benefits:
- Improved dirt resistance
- Avoids weight caused by taking on water
- Ideal heat insulation by keeping the outer
materials dry
- Prevents water being absorbed along the edge of the shaft and then entering into the shoe
No shoe care products are capable of causing damage to the GORE-TEX® membrane.
But you should avoid using rich oil-based creams or leather oil – these are high in fat or oil content and can block the pores in the leather. Ultimately this has a highly detrimental effect on the breathability
of the shoe.
