Bio
I was born and grew up in the West Indies; this island chain has a long-standing history in diversity of cultures and communities. And as a cross-cultural person, I got used to hearing and speaking several languages and dialects at a young age. Thanks to my family, especially my father who is a physician, I had easy and early access to various literature, sciences (natural, medical, technical, etc.) and other things that widened my knowledge. This helped me develop a very enquiring mind. Once I obtained my degree in French Literature and Foreign Languages in the south-west of France, I studied Tourism for two years near Toulouse. I then decided to attend university and get a master degree in Foreign Languages in Bordeaux. I was now able to start my career in the Tourism & Leisure industry, in countries or companies where, at least, a high level of proficiency in English was often mandatory. After discovering many parts of the world through travels and work, I had the opportunity, in 2006, to establish myself as a freelance translator. I could actually team up with Olivier, a professional translator boasting real experience in this activity at that time. He wanted to benefit from my knowledge in specific fields and my experience in video games. Today, working in the translation industry brings much more to my thirst for learning. It also allows me to better use my literary, linguistic and computer skills where I am learning more all the time.
