Spektakuläre Funde im Hunsrück dokumentieren den Beginn der römischen Herrschaft in Germanien: Scherben und Schuhnägel in Hermeskeil zeugen vom ältesten Militärlager der Römer hierzulande - es wurde gegründet von Julius Cäsars Truppen.
Mainz/Hermeskeil - Rund ein Jahr nach dem Nachweis des bislang ältesten römischen Militärlagers auf deutschem Boden bei Hermeskeil in Rheinland-Pfalz haben neue Grabungen den Befund untermauert. "Wir haben Weinamphoren-Scherben gefunden, die wohl noch aus dem zweiten Viertel des ersten Jahrhunderts, also aus den Jahren 75 bis 50 vor Christus stammen", sagt Archäologin Sabine Hornung.
Zudem seien Reste von keltischen Vorrats- und Trinkgefäßen sowie etwa ein halbes Dutzend weiterer Schuhnägel von Legionärssandalen ausgegraben worden. Wie Spikes trugen die Römer die Nägel unter ihren Schuhen, damit sie auf dem Lehmboden nicht ausrutschten.
"Die Funde und Befunde sprechen dafür, dass das Militärlager am Ende des Gallischen Krieges 53 oder 51 vor Christus von den Truppen Julius Cäsars errichtet wurde", sagte Grabungsleiterin Hornung vom Institut für Vor- und Frühgeschichte der Uni Mainz. "Es passt alles zusammen."
Hermeskeil sei das erste römische Feldlager dieser Zeit, das nun systematisch untersucht werde. Die 26 bis 30 Hektar große Anlage mit Befestigungswall soll Platz für 5000 bis 10.000 Soldaten geboten haben. Sie war vermutlich an jenem Ort angelegt worden, um die Kelten am nahe gelegenen Hunnenring zu vertreiben.
In der neunwöchigen Grabung, die kommende Woche zu Ende geht, hat das Team um Hornung rund 300 Quadratmeter freigelegt, im Durchgang vom Hauptlager zu einem Anbau, in dem der Tross gelagert haben soll. Die nächsten Jahre möchte die Archäologin im Hunsrück weiter graben. Vielleicht könnten in einer Quelle im Anbau noch antike Hölzer gefunden werden, die eine genaue Datierung möglich machen.
Unterworfene Germanen
Zuvor galt eine Anlage aus den dreißiger Jahren vor Christus auf dem Trierer Petrisberg als ältestes Militärlager der Römer in Deutschland. 2011 war zudem ein Römerlager im Münsterland entdeckt worden.
Roms Herrschaft in Teilen Germaniens begann unter Julius Caesar. In den Jahren 58 bis 51 vor Christus eroberten seine Legionen Gallien einschließlich der Gebiete westlich des Rheins, wo die Römer befreundete germanische Stämme ansiedelten.
Der Südwesten des heutigen Deutschlands gehörte daraufhin fast 500 Jahre lang zum Imperium Romanum, war Teil seines Wirtschafts- und Kulturlebens. Viele deutsche Städte mit römischen Ursprüngen hatten in den vergangenen Jahrzehnten ihr 2000-jähriges Jubiläum, darunter Augsburg, Köln, Bonn und Mainz.
Unter Kaiser Augustus unterwarfen die Römer in mehreren Feldzügen die Germanenstämme bis zur Elbe. Diese Expansion war jedoch nicht von Dauer. In der Varusschlacht im Jahre neun nach Christus lockten germanische Kämpfer drei römische Legionen mit 25.000 Soldaten wahrscheinlich bei Kalkriese nahe Osnabrück in einen Hinterhalt.
Bei der mehrtägigen Schlacht starben schätzungsweise 20.000 Römer. Die geschlagene Weltmacht begnügte sich fortan mit den linksrheinischen Gebieten und dem heutigen Süddeutschland und drang nur noch für einzelne Feldzüge in die Stammesgebiete ein, ohne sie dauerhaft zu besetzen.

Spektakularne odkrycia w Hunsrück dokumentują początek panowania rzymskiego w Germanii: skorupy i ćwieki znalezione w Hermeskeil są dowodem na istnienie najstarszego, założonego przez wojska Juliusza Cezara, rzymskiego obozu wojskowego w Niemczech.
Mainz/Hermeskeil - rok po odkryciu najstarszego rzymskiego obozu wojskowego na niemieckiej ziemi w okolicach Hermeskeil w Nadrenii-Palatynacie nowe wykopaliska potwierdziły te hipotezy. „Znaleźliśmy fragmenty amfor na wino, które prawdopodobnie pochodzą z drugiej ćwierci I w, tj. z lat 75 - 50 p.n.e.,” mówi archeolog Sabine Hornung.
Ponadto wydobyto pozostałości celtyckich naczyń zasobowych oraz naczyń do picia, jak również ponad pół tuzina ćwieków z legionowych sandałów. Rzymianie nabijali ćwiekami podeszwy sandałów, aby nie poślizgnąć się na ilastym podłożu.
„Znaleziska i obiekty wskazują na to, że obóz wojskowy został założony pod koniec wojny galijskiej w 53 lub 51 roku p.n.e. przez wojska Juliusza Cezara", mówi kierowniczka wykopalisk Hornung z Instytutu Prahistorii i Wczesnej Historii Uniwersytetu w Moguncji. "To wszystko układa się w całość.”
Hermeskeil jest pierwszym rzymskim obozem wojskowym z tego okresu, który zostanie zbadany w systematyczny sposób. Założenie obronne z wałami o powierzchni od 26 do 30 hektarów mogło pomieścić 5000 - 10 000 żołnierzy. Zostało ono stworzone w tym miejscu, aby przepędzić Celtów z leżącego w pobliżu Hunnenring.
W ciągu dziewięciu tygodni wykopalisk, które dobiegają końca w przyszłym tygodniu, zespół pod kierownictwem Hornung odsłonił około 300 metrów kwadratowych w przejściu z głównego obozu do aneksu, w którym prawdopodobnie umieszczone były tabory. W kolejnych latach pani archeolog planuje dalej kopać w Hunsrück. Być może uda się znaleźć w źródle płynącym na terenie aneksu fragmenty starożytnego drewna, dzięki którym będzie możliwe dokładne datowanie stanowiska.
Podporządkowana Germanom
Dotychczas obiekt z lat trzydziestych p.n.e. na trewirskiej górze Petrisberg uważany były za najstarszy rzymski obóz wojskowy w Niemczech . W 2011 roku inny rzymski obóz został również odkryty w regionie Münsteru.
Panowanie Rzymu w części Germanii rozpoczęło się pod panowaniem Juliusza Cezara. W latach 58-51 p.n.e. jego legiony podbiły Galię, w tym terytoria na zachód od Renu, gdzie Rzymianie osiedlili zaprzyjaźnione plemiona germańskie.
Południowy zachód dzisiejszych Niemiec należał przez prawie 500 lat do Imperium Rzymskiego, będąc częścią jego gospodarczego i kulturalnego życia. Source text - English The Despatch Magnetic Anneal Oven heats as many as fifteen (15) wafers.
The wafers are loaded on a tray, which is loaded into a vacuum chamber. The vacuum chamber is mounted inside the oven body, which holds the heater and fan assemblies. The wafers are processed within a magnetic field, and air and nitrogen are circulated around the vacuum chamber to transfer heat into it. A programmable routine, called a recipe, defines the heating process.
Performance advantages for this process include:
• A decrease in overall cycle time by optimizing potential temperature ramp rates while preserving temperature uniformity.
• The permanent magnets are outside the chamber and are not exposed to the high temperature environment.
• Microcomputer control offers operator interface screens, data acquisition, and communication links to the plant network.
