I am a freelance linguist currently providing translation from Spanish to English, as well as English language subtitling and closed captioning. Due to my extensive training and experience in the field, I specialise in creating, proofreading and editing subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing, and my primary subtitling collaborations are therefore currently based in this specialism. Similarly, as a result of my training and experience in the relevant fields, my current translation workload primarily involves projects in the areas of marketing and audio-visual media.
My most notable collaborations are listed below:
• In the field of subtitling, I have worked closely with several world-renowned vendors to carry out projects for international broadcasters. As a subtitle translator, I have collaborated with firms including VoiceBox and Sub-Ti to translate nationally broadcast content such as Channel 4 drama 'Locked Up'. As an English language subtitler, I have worked primarily with SDI Media to create, proofread and recut English captions for broadcasters including HBO, Disney and Red Bull TV.
• Together with On Global, I have carried out over 200,000 words of Spanish to English translation on behalf of the Catalan Tourist Board, among several others.
• Working with Wolfestone Translations, I have translated for several high-profile end-clients in a range of tasks. Primarily, this work has centered around subtitle, legal and marketing-based translation and subtitling projects for clients including Trip Advisor, Dell and Telefonica. I have also occasionally provided English-language copy editing for firms including Ikea and Cisco.
• I have also worked in collaboration with direct clients in the areas of real estate and contract law; references for these projects can be provided upon request.
In addition to the above-mentioned experience, I have also earned a Master's degree in Screen Translation at the University of Sheffield. Upon completion of the course in the autumn of 2016, I earned a "distinction" grade, the highest available classification.
