Freelance translators and interpreters are not just professional linguists, but also business owners. As business owners then, we need to be able to identify, analize, assess, control and avoid risks. But do you know what types of risks freelance translators and interpreters run exactly? If so, do you know how to avoid or at least mitigate them?
Attend this session on risk management for freelance translators and interpreters and get answers to the following questions:
What is considered a risk in freelancing?
What types of risk do freelance translators and interpreters run?
What strategies can freelancers apply to avoid or mitigate these risks?
How can I detect and react to false job offers?
What should I do in case of non-payment issues with an outsourcer?
How can I stay up-to-date regarding scams and other risks?
This session will provide specific information on different types of risks and devote a considerable amount of time to scams and how to avoid them (real examples will be used).
