Just wanted to update everyone on the situation. I sent all the PMs in the agency a very polite email asking them again to write me instead of calling me to offer me jobs. For the moment they're listening, and my day is much less stressful.
Strangely, in the past few weeks they haven't offered me any unconfirmed jobs. The next time they offer me one, I'm going to use that as an example for stating my case to them, based on all your good advice.
