I am currently seeking to learn more about the translation industry, and I have a few questions about what exactly it is that project managers consider when choosing between bids on projects from various vendors. I would appreciate any clarification that you could offer.

How much of the decision between different freelancers is based on price, and how might the asking price reflect on the abilities of the translator/interpreter?

How are mistakes in translation dealt with? How can they influence the business relationship between the translator and the project manager? What types of mistakes should be avoided at all costs?
