Source text - English On the West side of Manhattan between 30th and 34th street, near where the Highline Park begins is the Hudson Yards. It is truly a city-within-a-city and the largest real estate development in U.S. history. The project was developed after the city lost its bid for the 2012 Summer Olympics and then decided not to build the proposed West Side Stadium for the New York Jets.
This mini city will sit on a gigantic roof fully covering one of the world’s busiest railroad yards, and the trains will keep running, uninterrupted during construction. The challenge consists of erecting a rooftop with underpinnings so sturdy that it can support a city of immense height and weight.
Building this city on stilts is the most challenging engineering project and one of the most advanced in all of U.S. commercial real estate development. It is a city being built not on land, but on elevated platforms.
When fully completed sometime around 2024, the Hudson Yards, will be comprised of 20 million square feet of offices, apartments, and retail outlets.
Translation - Russian На западной стороне Манхеттена, между 30й и 34й улицами, возле эстакадного парка Хайлайн идёт строительство одного из самых крупнейших проектов недвижимости в Нью-Йорке – комплекса жилых и офисных зданий под названием Хадсон Ярдз. На сегодняшний день этот проект является целым “городом в городе” и самым крупным проектом городской застройки не только в Нью-Йорке, но и во всей стране. Все началось с того дня, когда право на проведение Олимпийских игр 2012 года досталось не Нью-Йорку, а Лондону и на месте проектируемого олимпийского стадиона решили построить целый комплекс зданий различного предназначения.
Уникальность этого городка в том, что он, по-сути, стоит на гигантской крыше одного из крупнейших в мире железнодорожных депо и во всё время строительства поезда под стройкой ездят беспрепятственно. Сложность инженерного решения состяла в накрытии депо столь мощной и устойчивой крышей, чтобы она смогла выдержать на себе все эти новые небоскрёбы и улицы с транспортом.
На сегодняшний день застройка целого участка города на опорах является одним из самых сложнейших инженерных и архитектурных проектов для коммерческих строительных проектов, которые когда-либо предпринимались в США. Получается, что часть города будет стоять не на земле, а на поднятых платформах.
После окончания строительства приблизительно в 2024 году, это будет комплекс приблизительно на 2 млн квадратных метров офисов, магазинов, ресторанов и квартир.

I was born and raised in Ukraine, my two native tongues are Ukrainian and Russian.
I graduated from Kyiv National University in 1993 with the combined degree of Bachelor and Master of Art in Languages. My school is number one in Ukraine among language schools – at the time I was entering it, the competition was very strong: there were about 30 persons willing to take one seat in my school.
After the second year of the University, I had to serve my time in the military, where for two years I was translating from English to Russian.
After graduating, I immediately went on to work as an interpreter and translator, and my first big employer was Prisewaterhousecoopers with its accounting reform project in Ukraine. I was interpreting from English to Russian and Ukrainian at negotiations, public speeches and lectures. As far as the translating is concerned, I was the part of the team of translators, who translated International Accounting Standards from English to Ukrainian, and my name is actually on the book.
After my job at Pricewaterhousecoopers, I went on to apply my language skills in the advertising and marketing areas – I was a copywriter and account director for the advertising agency and after it – I was employed consecutively by two largest Ukrainian vodka companies as the head of their export marketing departments.
It were actually my language skills that made possible to my relocation to the United States – I was sent here from Ukraine to open the office of a Ukrainian vodka company and supervise their communications with the head office as well as their marketing and advertising here in the US.
Unfortunately, this company went bankrupt in the crises of 2008 and I left in the country without a job and I decided to return to my language skills and started a sightseeing company doing tours in Russian and doing translations and interpreting as a freelancer.
