3. Osoba biorąca udział w jakimś przedsięwzięciu, ale tak naprawdę nic do niego nie wnosząca.

Czyli sens tego zdania jest następujący: Choć był królem *Deadheads*, to jednak coś wnosił do sprawy (był obciążony ładunkiem czy obowiązkami).

Tego dowcipu wynikającego z gry słów nie da się wyrazić po polsku więc proponuję:
"Będąc królem fanów zespołu jednocześnie pełnił ważną rolę w..." i tu uzupełnij to czymś co wynika z kontekstu.

Thanks, Leff. I used simply "fanow" in this instance. I was thinking about leaving Dead Heads suggested by Lota, but decided that this would be too confusing - the name of the band is Grateful Dead not Dead Head(s) - so ...krolem fanow,lub sowich wiernych fanow.
