Yes, it updates automatically Jun 19, 2012

Hi Enrique, are badge updates now automatic? That is, when I do a new translation of, say, 1000 words, does my word count number automatically go up by 1000 once I submit my translation?

In the past you advised me to be sure to add each of my translations to a list of my contributions, but now I can't find a way to do that.

Thanks,
Gail

Hi Gail,

The amount of translated words in the badge updates automatically each time you mark a task as complete in Translators without Borders Translation Workspace.

Regards,
Enrique

Hi
I am currently registered with TWB but I haven't received any projects yet.
Would you please inform me what subjects are in demand for my language combination (English- Arabic)?
Best Regards,
Shereen

Hi Shereen,

A large project for Doctors without Borders has been just released in the Translators without Borders translation center. Notifications are sent out in batches of 5, separated by 15 minutes.

Thanks a lot for your generosity!

Regards,
Enrique

Dear Shereen,
Thank you for offering your generous contribution to the good cause.

Several files have just been posted in another one of our projects processed through Translators without Borders, in the FAIRstart project. Translation efforts will be ongoing for the next several months and we would be happy to see you among our volunteers.

Another ongoing project is the Wikiproject Medicine, for Wikipedia, where volunteers with medical background can find plenty to do. This project is planned to continue for about 5 years.

Thanks again for your generous offer and see you at the Translation Center!
Kind regards,
Ildikó

Codes for Badges Dec 19, 2013

Hi, I can't find the codes for the badges. My profile just shows the logo with the link. I am looking for the badge that says how many words were done.

Can anyone help?
Thanks a lot!

I once tried to contact TWB but got no response from them (it was a long mail with a CV attached and a mention of the 'Red P', which supposedly fast-tracks the process). Is it only possible to work on medical texts or do they have something else? Also, do they officially support any specific positions in bioethical matters? There was something on their website once, but it may have reflected the private views of whoever wrote the news piece.

Hi Łukasz,
Translators without Borders is a lean operation that relies on volunteers not only for translation but also for most administrative activities, so it is possible that an email could have been not answered. Apologies for that.

The Translators without Borders Non-profit Organization Charter can be found here.

The translation matters are basically defined by the client NGOs. There are many medical translations but other issues are covered as well.

There is not a large NGO demand for English into Polish translations but the translation of Wikipedia medical articles and other similar projects can be relevant.

As a certified PRO you are entitled to immediate acceptance as a TWB volunteer. If you are interested, or if you need help to do this please submit a support request.

Regards,
Enrique

Hi Mala, you had forgotten to mark the task as complete. I did so for you and your TWB is already visible in your ProZ.com profile as well as in your TWB translation center profile.

Thanks a lot for your generous donation!

Enrique

Badge is not updating Nov 8, 2016

I noticed that my badge doesn't update - it's still showing the number of words of my first assignment. Have I forgotten to check a box somewhere?
