Perhaps you would like to know how my background and experience enhance my ability to work professionally as a translator and editor:
I am a former Business and Vocational Education Teacher. As such, business English, accounting, secretarial skills and marketing were the main part of my course load. In addition, I myself have worked as an executive secretary with transcriptions and independent correspondence as a part of my responsibilities. While studying for my Bachelors (BA) degree, I also took courses in advanced English grammar and creative writing.
I worked for 17 years as the IT Manager of a hi-tech manufacturing facility and international subsidiaries. As such, I wrote, edited and/or translated various work proposals, budgets, and web content, presentations and other types of business communications.
For the last 2 years I have been translating and editing software user manuals as well as other documents. Subjects included the manufacturing system, management, finance, personnel, architecture, urban planning, technical information for a web site.
Currently, I occasionally write political opinion articles for a web site using a content management system and up-to-the-minute political commentary and news for a twitter site.
A very wide range of subjects and fields such as health, science, nature, politics, among others, interest me. I regularly conduct research in these fields which keeps me up to date with the latest news and terminology.I look forward to receiving your project proposal.
