TRANSLATION EXPERIENCE:
Translating materials from English to Gujarati on a variety of topics: biology, botany, health and medicine, sociology and human relations, geography and anthropology, personal narrative accounts, religion, science, poetry and current affairs. Work included analysing, translating and reviewing up to 2,500 words of text per day for the semi-monthly and quarterly editions of international journals distributed in 20 countries.

My translation methodology and procedures involves a meaning-based approach to produce high-quality readable translation. Field tests among vernacular speakers are carried out to ensure the naturalness and accuracy of my work.

Further Areas of Activity
I was also involved in designing training programmes and teaching materials (often as PowerPoint presentations) for translators and interpreters in Britain and India. My role included coordinating translation projects with translators in India. This involved resolving any translation issues that may arise and writing to the authors for necessary clarification of the source text or requesting textual adjustments. Admin work included writing to the authors, translators, and making necessary information or correspondence available to the translation teams.

I also had to manage and organise my work with the project teams and then co-ordinate the entire translation project to see through its completion. This included making practical workable translation project schedules. I was also involved in selecting artwork for composed pages as well as required to build and maintain electronic dictionaries and databases of vernacular research material.
