The Soft Commodity Fund will invest directly in both long and short positions in futures contracts and options on futures contracts related to the prices of soft commodities such as coffee, cocoa, sugar, grains and other agricultural products for which there is a publicly traded futures market. The Fund may from time to time also make investments in futures and options contracts in base metals, precious metals, energy-related commodity futures, fixed income securities, equities, and other listed and unlisted derivative contracts and instruments from both developed markets and emerging markets.

A new method was developed for the analysis of pesticide residues in tobacco. The objective was to significantly increase the number of samples that can be processed by the laboratory and to enable the extension of the current coverage to additional pesticides.
A new analytical approach was therefore defined based on two main axes, the automation of the sample preparation and the selectivity of the analyte detection using tandem mass spectrometry.
This latter aspect reduces the stringency of the requirements placed on the clean-up of the extracts and on the chromatographic resolution when less selective detectors are used.
The extraction of the analytes from the matrix is performed using the pressurized liquid extraction technique. Tobacco samples are extracted at elevated temperature and pressure (100 °C and 100 atm; 1 atm=101,325 Pa) using acetone as an extraction solvent.
The resulting extract is then concentrated using a Vortex evaporator.
The first fraction contains such main classes of active ingredients as organohalogenated and 2,6-dinitroaniline compounds while the second one collects the organophosphorus and acylalanines residues.
These two fractions are analyzed by capillary gas chromatography coupled to tandem mass spectrometry using negative chemical ionization and electron impact ionization in the positive mode, respectively.
The third extract fraction gathers the N-methylcarbamates residues which are analyzed by HPLC with post-column derivatization and fluorescence detection.
The different sample preparation stages from extraction to SPE clean-up have been automated through the use of recent analytical technologies. In combination with the analysis by tandem mass spectrometry, this provided a potential for a high sample throughput.
Translation - Ukrainian Новий метод був розроблений для аналізу залишків пестицидів у тютюні. Метою дослідження було істотне збільшення кількості проб, придатних до обробки у лабораторних умовах, та поглиблення наявної інформації щодо інших видів пестицидів.
Таким чином, на основі двох головних напрямків, автоматизації
пробопідготовки та селективності виявлення аналітів за допомоги тандемної мас-спектрометрії був визначений новий аналітичний підхід.
Застосування такого різновиду мас-спектрометрії зменшує жорсткість вимог щодо очищення екстрактів та хроматографічного розщеплення, в якому використовуються менш селективні детектори.
Вилучення аналітів з матриці відбувається за допомогою технології екстракції зжатою рідиною. Проби тютюну вилучаються при підвищеній температурі та тиску (100 °C та 100 атм (атмосфер) = 101325 Па), використовуючи ацетон у якості екстракційного розчину.
Отриманий екстракт потім піддається випарюванню за допомогою апарата Вортекс.
Три окремі процедури твердофазної екстракції (ТФЕ) у відповідності з хімічними властивостями активних речовин, які необхідно виміряти, застосовуються до концентрованого екстракту, призводячи, таким чином, до утворення трьох фракцій.
Перша фракція містить органічні галогенідні та 2.6-дінітроанілінові сполуки, а друга - органофосфорні та ацил-аланінові залишки.
Дві фракції піддаються аналізу за допомогою капілярної газової хроматографії, а також тандемної мас-спектрометрії, використовуючи негативну хімічну іонізацію та іонізацію електронним ударом у режимі визначення позитивних іонів.
Третя фракція екстракту містить залишки N-метилкарбамату, які аналізуються шляхом високоефективної рідинної хроматографії (ВЕРХ), післяколоночної дериватизації та виявлення флуоресценції.
Різні фази пробо підготовки від екстракції до очистки за допомоги твердофазної екстракції (ТФЕ) було автоматизовано завдяки використанню найновіших аналітичних технологій. У поєднанні з тандемною мас-спектрометрією це забезпечило потенціал для більшої ефективності в отриманні проб.
