Turning on the pilot controller:
Press and hold the STANDBY button for one second until the XXX logo appears.
If the unit is being switched on for the first time or after a factory reset the set up wizard will be launched.
Note: The XX logo is not displayed if the unit is in 'sleep mode', the unit may appear off but still has power.
To turn the pilot controller off press and hold the STANDBY button. After 1 second a pop up will appear. Continue to hold the STANDBY button for as further 3 seconds to complete the power off.
Note: You cannot power down the pilot controller whilst in
AUTO mode.
Vessel hull type selection
The vessel hull type options are designed to provide optimum steering performance for typical vessels. It is important to complete the vessel hull type selection as part of the initial set-up, as it forms a key part of the autopilot calibration process. You can also access the options at any time with the pilot in Standby by selecting MENU > Set-up > Autopilot Calibration > Vessel Settings > Vessel Hull Type.
As a general guide, select the option that most closely matches your vessel type and steering characteristics. The options are:
• Sail (Slow turn).
• Sail Catamaran.
• Power.
• Power (slow turn).
• Power (fast turn).
It is important to be aware that steering forces (and therefore rate-of-turn) vary significantly depending on the combination of vessel type, steering system, and drive type. Therefore, the available vessel hull type options are provided for guidance only. You may wish to experiment with the different vessel hull type options, as it might be possible to improve the steering performance of your vessel by selecting a different vessel type.
When choosing a suitable vessel type, the emphasis should be on safe and dependable steering response.

Source text - English Financials continued to be our largest sector investment and was the worst performer in the portfolio. However, because we have been underweighted in this area, we did not suffer relative to the benchmark. Long term holding, CIT, which was a strong fourth quarter performer, had the largest decline in the sector and we used the weakness to rebuild our position. REITs, which we have underweighted for some time, were also underperformers.
Energy stocks rebounded from their fourth quarter underperformance and were the strongest sector in the market. Recently purchased Unocal was a top performer as it was the subject of takeover speculation and we trimmed our position as it approached our price target. While we are aware of the possibility of near-term commodity price weakness, we are maintaining our five-year overweighting of this group, as we do not believe stock prices fully reflect the favorable long-term supply/demand equation of oil.
Overall, our portfolio and market outlook essentially has not changed for some time. At the margin, we are finding relatively more opportunities in somewhat larger capitalization stocks as well as reasonably valued growth stocks. However, with the fundamental economic backdrop unexciting, P/E multiples at above average levels and fewer valuation anomalies available, we continue to find it difficult to uncover enough attractive risk/reward situations to replace holdings that have reached our price objectives. Thus we still have above average cash levels as we are not willing to stretch our stringent selection criteria to make investments that have greater risk than reward. As in the past, we will deploy that cash as good opportunities arise. Although this may result in our not fully participating in short term market upswings, we are confident that this longer term focus will continue to deliver above average returns relative to our benchmark.
