Source text - English The Baltic markets rebounded in October and recovered almost all the September losses on the back of increasing investors’ confidence in the orderly resolution of the European debt crisis. The Lithuanian market was the strongest, gaining 11.4%, while the Estonian and Latvian markets gained 9.5% and 7% respectively.
The banks in the fund rallied on the positive sentiment, as well as on good 3Q 2011 results. Both Swedbank and SEB reported better-than-expected results and improving earnings in the Baltics states, which resulted in 30% and 20% gains respectively in the share prices. Even the locally-listed Siauliu Bankas gained 11.4% on positive results. During the month, we XXXXX our positions substantially in Swedbank and SEB as their exposure to the peripheral European debt is XXXXX and the capital adequacy ratios are among the XXXX in Europe.
