From 1972-1983, I worked for the IRS translating tax publications, tax forms, and tax-education material from English to Spanish. Represented the IRS in meetings with the OAS to develop a reliable bilingual technical glossary of tax-related terms.
I also translated the IRS Commissioner's speech given at the CIAT conference in 1982.
From 2002-2003, I worked part time for the University of South Carolina translating to Spanish pamphlets published by the South Carolina Department of Social Services and the South Carolina Department of Health.
From time to time I have performed free-lance translation--mostly to and from Portuguese--for various clients. The translations included a sewing-machine manual, many personal documents (birth certificates, diplomas, marriage certificates, etc.), and academic research papers.
