Bio
I'm an independent translator/interpreter, journalist/editor from Kyiv, Ukraine.
I've been learning English since the age of 3.

My first experience as a translator was when I worked together with my dad in 2006 on the translation of the book, “Handbook of Independent Journalism". After that I was constantly involved in doing translations as well as meeting foreign people at places I studied.

My first official debut as an interpreter took place in the autumn of 2009 when Professor Hersh Chadha (www.hershchadha.com) arrived in Kyiv to receive the award of Honorary Professor of the Taras Shevchenko University.

Following my official debut with Professor Hersh Chadha I worked as an interpreter/translator at the Institute of Journalism where I also study. If a foreign guest comes, it's almost always me who is asked to help. :)

I've always had a friendly and curious attitude to foreign people, so working with them is something I enjoy. The price for my work as a translator/interpreter is negotiable; it all depends on the task, topic, and time.

As a journalist I specialize in international affairs, currently having an internship at the ICTV channel. The circle of topics I write on is much wider and also includes IT issues, Internet communication and language, rock music, and interesting people. I currently have 2 articles in English available on the net, both for www.metal-rules.com:

A Double Presentation: Hard n’ heavy and Symfo-metal in one place
Slovyansky Rok (Slavic Rock) 3 Part 2

I know that personal qualities matter a lot when it comes to working with people, so I'll briefly mention them here.
Other than my professional activities as interpreter/translator I'm also interested in sewing, making jewelry, photography, traveling, video editing, blogging and writing dark romantic fiction stories. Quite a lot of photographers are among my friends, so I sometimes model in the outfits I make.

I'm into Gothic/Gothic Lolita/metalhead/biker/rocker style, but still no acid hair colors, crazy makeup and piercings all the time - so don't be afraid I attend official events looking like a freak. :) I choose looks that are appropriate for the situation.

And I am also learning Victorian etiquette.
