At the sensitive age of 5, I acquired my first computer. Since then I've been translating stuff. Oh yeah, I have been translating games since I was five years old. Not professionally, of course, but recreationally. If my memory serves me right, the first game I just had to translate to at least some extent was Ultima 3. I wanted to play it so bad, I spent countless nights with the game, trying to translate every bit of information that could help me complete the quest, which I eventually did.

After many (MANY!) games and hundreds of movies I started to notice I didn't have to translate anything any more. I just understood what those characters were saying and started to see errors in television subtitles. This was the time I started to read books in English as well.

In 2001, I started to make own subtitles to movies that hadn't been released in Finland. Still not professionally.

In 2006 I jumped aboard with one of the biggest translation agencies and in the next three years I did hundreds of translations for different television series, feature films, documentaries etc.

After that gig, my translating "hobby" dipped a bit because of family-related stuff, but now I'm back. Lately I've been doing some small jobs, mostly pro bono. Alchemy for Android is my handiwork, for example. Go check it out because it's an awesome game and it has one of the best Finnish translations I've ever seen. ;)
