I have a 15-year experience as an English-Bulgarian translator, interpreter and reviser for Bulgarian translation agencies. I have translated and revised texts in nearly all fields, including transport, finance, marketing, computers, legal texts, technical literature, guidelines, company documents, etc. I have also performed successful high-level consecutive and simultaneous interpretation on a large number of occasions, such as the opening of the Roman Stadium in Plovdiv in 2012 with the participation of the Prime Minister of Bulgaria and members of the Council of Ministers, simultaneous interpretation at the presentation of the book of the President of the Czech Republic Mr. Vaclav Klaus “European integration without illusions” in 2012, etc., conference interpreting for a number of events and companies, etc.

From 2007 to February 2019, I worked as a civil servant at the Railway Administration Executive Agency (RAEA) of the Republic of Bulgaria. There I was in charge of liaising with the European Commission and the European Union Agency for Railways, and I gained a lot of experience with high-level administrative work, including correspondence with EU institutions and Bulgarian and foreign railway companies, exchange of information by email or by letters, drafting minutes of meetings, analysis of documents, etc. I was also in charge of translation of various legal and technical texts in this field, as well as of interpretation at conferences, workshops and working groups. I acted as a contact point and an interpreter for representatives of the RAEA and of the Bulgarian railway sector on a number of foreign missions and participated as an expert and representative of Bulgaria in various committees and working groups on a EU level - the European Commission, the European Union Agency of Railways, etc. While working at RAEA I made a lot of linguistic revisions of draft translations into Bulgarian of legislative texts (EU directives, regulations, decisions, etc.) before their publication in the Official Journal of the European Union. As a RAEA representative I participated regularly at the conferences of the Bulgarian Language Network, organized by the Bulgarian Translation Department at DG “Translation” of the European Commission.
