Personal Profile
I am an IoL qualified and experienced German translator with a solid background of working in bilingual customer service, customer supportand marketing. I have undertaken many projects regarding press releases, business communication and correspondence, company website representation and scripts.
Since becoming a parent I have been working from home on a wide variety of projects including a large amount of subtitling work, travel and tourism, gaming and applications, newspaper/magazine articles, sport and leisure as well as child care, child development and pregnancy/birth.
Background and experience
I was born and educated in Germany where I studied librarianship in Cologne.
In 1997 I moved to England as the language and the country itself had always been a passion of mine. I worked as nanny, library assistant and in the hotel business to enhance my language skills and to make myself familiar with the UK's cultural aspects before embarking on a career in bilingual customer service, support and marketing.
After gaining the Institute of Linguist’s Diploma in Translation in 2005 I have worked as a freelance translator on a part-time basis.
