I am a graduate of UCL (currently ranked 4th globally by the QES), and now studying part-time for a Masters at the same institution. I have studied Russian since the age of 13 and spend a year in Moscow studying Russian Language and Translation. While at University I began to study Czech and Slovak and attended a short course at the University of South Bohemia .

I work as a cooperative with my colleague, Anna, who is a fellow UCL graduate, with a BA in Russian and Spanish. Having been brought up in a bilingual French/English environment, she also studied translation in Moscow and Argentina.

We both studied translation throughout our time at UCL, focussing on medical, legal and financial texts. We are both also highly trained classical musicians, and have experience of working internationally in this field.

My language combinations are Russian, Czech and Slovak into English, and Anna’s are Russian, French and Spanish (European and Latin) into English, and Russian, English and Spanish into French.

Being a cooperative, we undertake to always carefully proofread each other’s work to ensure high levels of accuracy. We have trusted contacts to whom we can outsource surplus translation work in order to complete a job more quickly, but will not do this unless specifically requested to by the client. We only translate into our mother tongues, and would never outsource to translators not working into their native language.
