그리고 26일 주일에는 연변 한인 연합교회에서 예배를 드리고 다음날 있을 영어캠프광고를 하였습니다. 그런데...그 교회에서 어떤 한 분의 선생님이 안전문제 때문에 저희에게 어떠한 정보도 줄 수 없다고 말씀하시며 자신이 가르치고 있는 아이들을 섬겨준다면 정말 고맙겠다고 하였습니다. 그리고 전체 디렉터와 인솔자 외에는 이 요청사실도 말하지 말 것을 부탁하였습니다.
"안전문제"라는 단어가 계속 마음에 걸렸습니다. 하지만 다음날 아침 QT시간에 하나님께서는 요한일서 3장 16절의 말씀을 주셨습니다.
'예수님이 우리를 위해 스스로 목숨을 버리신 일로 우리는 사랑이 무엇인가를 알게 되었습니다. 그러므로 우리도 형제를 위해 목숨을 버리는 것이 마땅합니다'
이 말씀을 통하여 전체 디렉터와 인솔자는 하나님께서 원하시는 섬김과 사랑이 무엇인지를 알 수 있었고 깨달은 바를 선교팀과 함께 실천하였습니다.
7월 27일부터 31까지 오전 8시 30분부터 오후 5시까지 연변시내에 있는 한국교포자녀 즉 선교사 자녀들과 사업자 자녀들, 유학생들과 현지의 조선족 아이들 그리고 아이들의 아버지는 중국인이며 어머니는 탈북자인 아이들을 섬겼습니다 그들에게는 공통점이 있었는데 모두 엄마가 없는 탈북자의 아이들이었습니다. 그들에게 엄마가 없는 이유는 모두 강제로 북송 되었기 때문이었습니다. 아! 정말 너무나 마음이 아팠습니다.
하나님께서는 저희 팀의 섬김을 통하여 아버지의 사랑을 그들에게 나타내셨습니다. 많은 아이들이 기뻐하며 선생님과 함께 공부하며 뛰놀며 즐거운 시간을 보냈습니다. 김성민 선생님의 마술을 통한 영어캠프는 정말 대단했었습니다! 수업이 끝날 때 어떤 아이들은 너무 아쉬워서 발길이 잘 떨어지지 않는 모습도 보았습니다.
마지막 날 오후에는 섬김을 받았던 한 아이의 학부모께서 저희를 초대하셨습니다. 연길시내가 모두 내려다 보이는 멋진 곳에서 맛있는 고구마와 과일을 대접해주어서 너무나 감사했습니다.
모든 아이들에게 하나님의 사랑과 기쁨 그리고 평강이 충만하기를 소망합니다. 또한 엄마 없는 아이들의 슬픔이 주님 안에서 회복되며 치유되기를 기도합니다! 무엇보다도 그들이 길이요 진리요 생명 되신 예수님을 영접하기를 진심으로 소망하며 기도합니다.

“2009 Team Love China left Edmonton on July 15th, and arrived at the Incheon airport via Vancouver on July 16th. While in Incheon, through the service by one of the members of Team Love China 2007 and 2008, Miss X Kim, we were able to have a good rest in preparation for our mission in China at a condo in Eul-Wang-Lee Beach. Also, Dr. X Kim, who was part of Team Love China 2008, treated us with delicious dinner that evening and even served us lunch for all of us before leaving to China the next day. We left to China with a grateful heart as our previous Team Love China members served us.
“However, a third of the medicine we were carrying was confiscated at the customs in Yanji airport because they said we brought in too much. We were heartbroken. Those medicines were meant to be for our brothers in North Korea who were suffering from tuberculosis due to hunger… It was even more unfortunate knowing that the medicine was bought with the financial help of the mission team in Seattle and Dr. X Kim, as well as offerings given in tears by fellow Japanese Christians. We were able to leave the Yanji airport giving thanks to God once we were told we could reclaim those confiscated medicines when we return to Korea.”
“In the morning of July 18th, our team took a crash course in Chinese with the help of a young woman named PL, and in the evening we had an intercessory prayer meeting with the Seattle mission team for a North Korean missionary. We prayed together with a compassionate heart as we heard stories of severe poverty in North Korea. At the end of August, through the help of the missionary there, we were able to recover all of the confiscated medicines and donate it to the people in North Korea. God, thank you so much!!”
“On July 19th, we attended a service at a Yanji University of Science and Technology chapel which was once a crematory. It was an emotional service and a meaningful time as we learned about God’s amazing plan and vision for YUST and Pyoung-Yang University.”
“And from July 20th to 24th, in order to learn more about our identity as Korean and learn our history, and to learn and experience more of our Heavenly Father’s heart towards North Korea and its people, we took a trip to Mountain Bak-Du for one night and 2 days, and went to a Kogyuryu Historic Exploration trip for 4 days and 3 nights.”
“At times visiting a tourist site featured in a famous Korean television show “1 Night 2 Days” hosted by Hodong Kang was more meaningful to our team members, but we were thankful that all of us at least paid attention in seeing and acknowledging the pain North Korea is suffering. And we were also grateful to be able to learn more about our Korean ancestor’s wisdom and strength through the Goguryu Heritage Exploration trip. Most of all, our team was grateful and very happy to bond as one through this trip.”
“Up until then, we were served by others like the previous Team Love China members and the local missionaries. God has shown us through their service what it should be like for us to serve the young children at the English Camp. So we had some prayer time to commit ourselves to the following ‘As we were served through God’s people, we will serve those He has sent us.’”
“And after the Sunday service on 26th at Yanji Korean United Church, we advertised our English Camp to the locals, but… one of the gentleman we met at the church asked us that although he can’t give us any specific information due to safety reasons, he would appreciate it very much if we could serve the kids that he is taking care of. And he emphasized that only the director and the mission team leader of the group know about such request.”
We couldn’t help but be concerned with the phrase “safety reasons”. But the next morning, God gave us a verse from 1 John (first John) 3:16 during our daily Quiet Time.
‘This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers.”
Through this passage, the director and the mission team leader learned about serving and loving others as God wants, and they decided to carry it out in action with the rest of the mission team.
“From July 27th to 31st from 8:30 in the morning till 5 in the afternoon, the mission team ran the English Camp program and served the children of local Korean missionaries, businessmen, and foreign students. And we also served a group of children whose fathers are Chinese but their mothers are North Korean refugees. For this group, they all had something in common; none of the children were with their mothers because they were all forced back to North Korea. We were heartbroken.”
God has expressed His love to these children through the service of our mission team. Many children had a great time studying and playing with the teachers. One of the teachers performed magic during the English Camp and it was amazing! At the end of the English Camp, we could see that the children didn’t want to leave.
On the evening of our last day for the English Camp, one of the parents of our students invited us to their place. We could see the entire city from there and we were treated with delicious sweet potatoes and fruits. We were very grateful.
We wish those children to be filled with love and joy of God. We also pray for those children who lost their mothers to recover and be healed in the Lord! On top of all, we sincerely pray that these children accept Lord Jesus Christ who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
“On August 1st, we visited Ta-rae-Sang Garden, which is an organic farm, and we learned about evangelism through eco-friendly agricultural technologies. We also got to cook Korean bacon on a giant pot lid and had a very filling dinner. On Sunday August 2nd, we had a service at a church in Yanji made for both Korean and Chinese people. Their worship service was very passionate, especially their welcoming song for the newcomers was especially touching.
“God has given us opportunities not only through English Camp, but also through various other ways so we could serve the missionary in the area as well as those who needed our helping hands”
“We gave offerings to Yanji University of Science and Technology for their project on helping North Korean children, as well as a $500 donation for North Korean refugees who needed money for surgeries. We also donated a brand new laundry machine to the pastor who served us with room and board during our stay in Yanji, and donated all of our sleeping bags for the 4th Team Love China next year. We also donated the prepared bottles of vitamins to the missionaries who are serving without any special recognition or rewards.
“We sincerely thank the 2009 Team Love China members, as well as those in Edmonton Korean First Presbytery Church who supported us.”
“This 3-week mission trip has ended in a blink of an eye and hoping the best for next year, we left to Korea on August 3rd”

We anticipate and wonder what other lesson God has prepared for the mission team for next year and how He will guide our footsteps to China and North Korea.

July 15, 2009 ~ Aug 31, 2009한국에서 놀러온 어른 4명과 1살, 1살반, 3살 아이들의 가족에게 단기렌트를 주었다. 처음 며칠간은 한국과 캐나다의 시차 차이로 밤에 아이들이 잠을 못자고 시끄럽게 했다. 어래층으로부터 두번의complain letter를 받았고, 7월에 X PROPERTY MANAGERMENT로 부터 FINE $50에 관한 편지를 받았다. 나는 충분히 이해를 했기에, Fine 을 지불했다. 7월과 8월 초까지, 아이들이 울거나 장난을 치면, 아래층 사람들은 벽을 마구 두들겼다. Middle of Aug에Tenant가Korean BBQ 요리를 해서 갖다 주니깐, 매우 좋아했고, 그 후로는 Aug 31에 이사를 갈때까지 이해를 해주었다고 했다.
Sept 2009 새로운 입주자를 구할때, 아래층 사람들 때문에 많은 신경을 썼으며, 어머니와 16&10 years old 딸들이 있는 조용한 가족에게 렌트를 줬다. Tenant의 어머니는 교양있고 영어도 잘했으며, 두 딸들은 공부도 잘하고 조용한 여자아이들 이었다. 그런데 또다시 아래층 사람들은 두번의complain letter를 보냈고, 또 가끔씩 벽을 두둘겨 댔다. 그래서 Tenant 의 어머니와 딸들이 내려가서, 시끄럽게 할만큼 어린아이들이 아니라는 것을 설명했지만, 그 후에 몇차례 벽을 두들겨서 공포스럽게 했다. 아래층 사람들은, 조그마한 소리도 받아주지 못하고, 벽을 두둘겨서 사람한테 공포를 주고, Strata Council에 과장해서 complain을 하는 행동을 이해할 수가 없다. 만약에, 사람의 발자국 소리와 윗층의 소리가 심하게 들린다면, 이 건물에 문제가 있는것인가..? 이웃의complain이 들어오면, 확인도 하지않고, FINE을 내라고 편지를 보내는 것은 정당하지가 않는것 같다. 저층콘도는 나무로 지어졌기에, 콘트리트로 지어진 고층콘도 보다 소리가 많이 나는 것은 당연하며, 콘도는 house와 다르기에, 서로 조그만한 문제는 이해를 해주며 살아야 한다고 생각한다. 사람이 사는데.. 어떻게 소리도 없이, 그리고 밤늦게는 움직이지도 않고 살 수가 있는가..? 10시 이후에 파티를 하는 것도 아니고, 어린아이들이 뛰어다니는 것도 아니고 , 소리지르며 싸우는 것도 아닌데, 아래층에서 이해를 못해주고, 벽을 두둘겨서 tenant를 공포스럽게 할 수가 있는가? 앞으로도 나는, 어린아이들이 없는 가족에게 렌트를 주겠지만, 매번 이러한 일이 발생을 할때마다, 이렇게 dispute를 해야하는 스트레스를 받아야 하는가? 나는 이문제를 어떻해 해결해야 할지 몰라서 social worker협회에 도움을 청했고, dispute를 하기로 결정을 했다. Strata Council 임원들께서 잘 판단해서 해결해 주기를 바라는 마음이다.

July 15, 2009 ~ Aug 31, 2009 The unit was rented out to a family of 4 adults, a year, a 1.5-year-old, and a 3-year-old. And they came from Korea for a short visit. They were loud the first few days because their children did not sleep during the night due to time zone differences between Korean and Canada (roughly 14-16 hours). Letters of complaint were received from the downstairs folks on two different occasions, and received a letter from X PROPERTY MANAGEMENT in July for us to pay $50 fine. I fully understood the situation so I paid the fines. From July till the beginning of August, whenever the children cried or played, the people downstairs banged on the walls. In middle of August, the tenant made some Korean BBQ to the downstairs neighbors and they liked it a lot, and they were understanding of the situation at least until the tenants were moving out in August 31st.
Sept 2009. When we were looking for a new tenant, we were careful about who to choose due to the people downstairs so we found a mother of two daughters (10 & 16 years old) and rented them the unit. The mother (the tenant) was a well-educated with good English skills, and the two daughters were good students at school and very quiet kids. But the people downstairs sent letter of complaints two more times, and often banged on the walls. So the mother and the two daughters went downstairs and tried to explain that they were not being loud but they got scared because they kept on banging on the walls. The tenants were very distressed about this, scared, and said that it was very uncomfortable to live there, so they moved out.
I once again put up an ad in Korean Newspaper and Craigslist (website) for rent at $1400/month. A lot of requests came in, but since we were trying to avoid tenants without children, we ended up incurring some loss to due leaving the unit empty in March. With a lot of effort, we barely found a tenant (a mother and a 16 year old) and we signed the contract to rent the unit at $150/month less than the requested price. I was relieved and went to Korea for a visit between April 12 ~ 27th, but X PROPERTY MANAGEMENT sent another letter for $50 in fines. I was so confused so I asked the tenant (the mother) and she said, the received the letter of complaint from people downstairs, and she threw away the letter in the garbage because she was so angry (because the letter was ridiculous). She explained that there are no small children who would make any sorts of noise past 10pm, and there are no visitors in late night, and there are just two people trying to live quietly, so how are these complaints about noise possible. The tenant was very angry when she tried to explain. The people downstairs are banging on the walls too often and it scares them, so they have to walk really carefully, and talk quietly, and this stresses them so much that they said they will move out.
We simply cannot understand how the people downstairs are not tolerant of any small noise, and they’re scaring people off by banging on the walls, and they are sending exaggerated complaints to the Strata Council. If the smallest footsteps sound too loud for the people downstairs, then isn’t the problem with the building and not the tenants? It seems unfair to carelessly charge the tenants with fines without even properly checking that the problem is really there. The low-level condos can be noisier than the high-level condos because they are built out of wood instead of concrete, and because they are different from houses, I think it’s reasonable for people to be a bit compromising or tolerant of small issues. How can a tenant upstairs, a living human being, be expected to make no noise, and not move around the unit during evenings? It’s not like they are partying in the evenings, and there are no children running around, and there are no screaming fights or arguments, and the downstairs folks are intolerant of everything and scaring the tenants by banging on the walls.
From now on, I will be renting my unit to families without children, but am I supposed to suffer from the stresses of all these disputes whenever there is this “problem” with the folks downstairs? I didn’t know how to effectively resolve this situation so I asked for help from a social worker, and decided to dispute/appeal these complaints. I hope that the members of the Strata Council will consider my side of the story and make a fair decision that will resolve these problems without bias.

물리는 귀엽고 사랑스러운 여자 캐릭터다. 오른쪽의 사진처럼 양 갈래로 땋은 긴 머리와 부드러운 눈매가 특징이며, 이 머리가 가지는 여성스러운 라인이 캐릭터에도 잘 표현되어야 한다.
물리는 오른 쪽 그림과 같이 몸에 비해 비교적 큰 얼굴과 무릎까지 오는 팔과 큰 주먹, 짧고 굵은 다리를 가지고 있으며, 배가 불룩하게 나와있다. 이와 같은 요소들이 조화되어 전체적으로 귀여운 느낌을 주는 것이 가장 중요하다.
불리 디자인 컨셉
불리는 귀엽지만 남성스러움이 느껴지는 남자 캐릭터이다. 오른쪽의 사진처럼 진하고 꼬리가 살짝 위로 올라간 눈썹이 특징이다.
불리는 물리과 동일한 몸통 디자인 컨셉을 가지고 있다.

물리 던지기 불리가 물리를 적에게 던져 공격하는 액션이다. 던져진 물리의 고리가 길게 늘어났다가 줄어들면서 물리는 원래 위치가 돌아온다. 꼬리 잡기 액션에서 이어지는 액션이다.
티렉스 디자인 컨셉
티렉스는 오른쪽 그림과 비슷한 캐릭터이다. 티라노사우러스를 기본으로 하며, 몸에 비해 큰 얼굴과 날카로운 이빨, 매우 짧은 앞다리와 굵은 뒷다리와 꼬리를 가지고 있다. 뒷다리와 꼬리는 오른쪽의 그림보다는 짧아야 된다.
티렉스는 매우 값싸고 조잡해보이는 가죽 갑옷을 장비로 착용하고 있다.

수달 디자인 컨셉
수달은 새끼 수달을 기본으로 한다. 오른쪽 사진처럼 귀엽지만 뚱한 표정과 작은 눈이 중요 포인트이다.
타이틀 화면
타이틀 화면 디자인에서 우리가 가장 중요하게 생각할 점은 플레이어가 게임을 시작할 때, 항상 보는 화면으로, 이것은 물리불리가 어떤 게임인지를 상징적으로 보여줄 수 있어야 된다. 또한, 이 게임은 10세 전후의 아이들이 대상 연령층이므로, 그들이 좋아하는 요소들로 구성되어야 한다.
이 화면의 그래픽 스타일은 실제 게임 플레이에서 보여지는 거의 동일해야된다. 오른쪽의 그림은 타이틀 화면의 그래픽의 예제이다.
로딩 화면
로딩 화면은 각 스테이지가 시작할 때 나오는 것으로, 각 스테이지의 배경과 스토리 그리고 등장인물들이 함축적으로 보여지는 1장의 그림이 보여진다. 이 그림은 게임의 컨셉 아트 같은 느낌을 주는 스타일로 그려질 수 있으며, 이것은 캔슬 드로잉 혹은 풀 칼라 모두 사용될 수 있다.

로딩 화면에 캐릭터가 사용될 경우엔, 물리불리가 액션 게임인 만큼, 물리와 불리의 전투 액션을 강조되어야 된다.

Translation - English Design Concept for Mooly
Mooly is a cute and lovable female character. Just like the picture on the right, the main characteristics are the hair tied in two ponytails and the soft eyes, and the feminine feature coming from the head should be well expressed in the character also.
Just like the picture on the right, Mooly has a relatively large face in comparison to its body and it also has arms and the large fists that come down to its knees, and short and thick legs with a bulged out belly. It is most important that these elements combine into producing an overall cute feeling.
Design Concept for Booly
Booly is cute but it is a male character with masculine characteristics. Just like the picture on the right, the main characteristic is its eyebrow that is pronounced and pointed up.
Booly’s body has the same design as Mooly.

Design Concept for T-Rex
T-Rex is a character that looks similar to the picture on the right. It is based on tyrannosaurus, and its head is large relative to its body, with sharp teeth, very short arms, thick legs and tail. Its legs and tail should be shorter than the picture on the right.
T-Rex has a leather armor that looks very crude.

Design Concept for Otter
The Otter is based on a baby otter. It is cute just like the picture on the right and its main characteristics are the sullen facial expression and small eyes.
Title Screen
The most important point we must consider when designing the title screen is that it should be able to symbolically show what MoolyBooly game is as this is the screen the players will look at whenever the game starts. Also, the target audience for the game is around 10-years old, so it must be made up of elements this age group likes.
The visual style of this screen must be almost identical to the graphics of the actual gameplay. The picture on the right is an example of a title screen.
Loading Screen
Loading screens come up at the beginning of each stage, and it is shown with the background, story and its characters of the particular stage all in one image. This image or the picture can be drawn in a style similar to the game’s conceptual art, and its can be done by cancel drawing or in full color.

When characters are used in the loading screen, as much as MoolyBooly is an action game, Mooly and Booly’s combat action should be emphasized.
