Pierwsze lata naszego członkostwa w Unii Europejskiej zaznaczyły się niezwykle szybkim wzrostem obrotów polskiego handlu zagranicznego produktami rolno-spożywczymi, zarówno eksportu, jak i importu. W wyniku takiego rozwoju sytuacji Polska z importera netto produk-tów rolno-spożywczych przekształciła się w ważnego eksportera netto. Wejście w struktury Wspólnego Rynku Europejskiego okazało się zatem dla polskiego sektora żywnościowego korzystne. Dotychczasowym źródłem przewag konkurencyjnych na rynku unijnym i świato-wym były przede wszystkim przewagi kosztowo-cenowe. Wzrost koncentracji przemysłu spożywczego, rosnące znaczenie podmiotów zagranicznych na polskim rynku żywnościowym, szybki rozwój oferty handlowej firm krajowych i związany z tymi zjawiskami wysoki poziom nasycenia rynku spożywczego w Polsce, jak również zderzenie się z niczym nieograniczoną konkurencją na ogromnym rynku unijnym i konieczność pozyskiwania nowych rynków eksportowych poza obszarem Wspólnoty zmuszają jednak polskie przedsiębiorstwa przemysłu spożywczego do ciągłego poszukiwania nowych źródeł przewag konkurencyjnych. W warunkach globalizacji i integracji europejskiej konkuruje się bowiem głównie czynnikami pozacenowymi. Jest to podstawowa przesłanka, którą krajowi producenci żywności powinni wziąć pod uwagę w poszukiwaniu determinant konkurencyjności swoich przedsiębiorstw.
Translation - English Abstract
The first years of our membership in EU made us experience an overwhelming growth of Polish foreign market turnover in regard to agricultural and food products, both from exports and imports. As the result of such situation development Poland, from net agricultural and food product importer, turned into an important net exporter. Poland’s entry into common European market turned out to be profitable for Polish food industry. Among the current sources of competitive advantage were, above all, cost-pricing advantages. Increase in food industry concentration, growing importance of foreign subjects on the Polish food market, quick growth of domestic companies’ trade offer and high rate of Polish food market satura-tion, resulting from the above factors, as well as exposure to an unlimited competition on a huge EU market and necessity to obtain new export markets beyond the EU area force Polish food companies to a continuous search for new sources of competitive advantage. During the globalisation and integration of Europe, prices are not regarded as competitive factors. It is the most basic rule which Polish food producers should take into account in searching for the determinant of better competitiveness for their companies.

Source text - English To achieve the aims of investor protection and market integrity, the final rules provide that a future on a debt security index not subject to SEC regulation must be broad-based. This requirement is designed to ensure that the securities making up the index are not readily susceptible to manipulation. (The opportunity for manipulation could exist if an index covered too few securities, or a significant number of illiquid securities.) The rules will exclude certain debt indices from the definition of a "narrow-based security index," by providing criteria that are specifically relevant to debt securities. Futures contracts on debt securities indices that are excluded from the definition of "narrow-based securities index" under the rules will trade subject to regulation by the CFTC. Security futures on debt securities and narrow-based debt indices can be traded on futures exchanges and securities exchanges subject to joint regulation by the CFTC and SEC.

Wymóg ten ma ograniczyć możliwość manipulacji papierami wartościowymi składającymi się na indeks.
