Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.
In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.
Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.
It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

В обіймах ночі, що окутує мене,
Мов чорна яма із усіх країв землі,
Я вдячний Богу, що зі мною йде,
що дарував непереможний дух мені.
Я пережив жахливий збіг обставин,
Та не здригнувся я і не волав,
Скоритися мене він не заставив,
Із покривавленою головою я встояв.
Я був у пеклі серед гніву й сліз,
У тінях жаху і страшного суду,
І плин років я гордо переніс —

When I go up through the mowing field,
The headless aftermath,
Smooth-laid like thatch with the heavy dew,
Half closes the garden path.
And when I come to the garden ground,
The whir of sober birds
Up from the tangle of withered weeds
Is sadder than any words.
A tree beside the wall stands bare,
But a leaf that lingered brown,
Disturbed, I doubt not, by my thought,
Comes softly rattling down.
I end not far from my going forth
By picking the faded blue
Of the last remaining aster flower
To carry again to you.

Коли я йду по скошеному полю,
Килими стятої отави,
що вкриті міріадами роси,
стежину до саду прослали.
Й коли добрів я в царство саду,
там спів пташиний жалісно луна
з клубка зів’ялих бур’янів,
печальніший ніж будь-які слова.
Самотньо голе дерево завмерло,
а бурий лист, що наче забаривсь,
стривожений він думкою моєю,
кружляє легко, падаючи вниз.
Я знову повертаюсь на початок,
пелюстки айстри блідо-голубі
зриваю серед тліну квітів,

Source text - English Vygotsky emphasized the significance of play in learning. In compliance with his thoughts, learning and development take place when a child is in social interaction with his/her surroundings. Play is the most important prerequisite for the development of a child’s thoughts, will and feelings. New abilities and skills that are important for further development evolve during the play activities and a child develops a new kind of relationship with the surroundings. While playing, a child constantly acts on the area of the zone of proximal development. With the help of a play, a child handles and analyzes the new information — in relation to his/her own experiences –and assimilates it with the previously learned. A child is not yet ready to survive independently, but will succeed with the help of others.
Playing is the core of the teaching and learning through playing is essential. Unfortunately, the schools’ facilities do not often offer much opportunity for a versatile play. The schools are focused on teaching and education and its surroundings are built to support that. The school’s view on the learning structure with its book-orientated features leans on a decades-old tradition and the classroom and desks are considered as the prerequisite for learning. Understanding a play as a factor that contributes to a child’s development and as an action that supports a child comprehensively, would give new opportunities also for the primary education. A motivational basis is built for the learning through playing, because then a child does not have to be persuaded to practice his developing skills. Through play, a child learns almost by himself/herself new things, because a catching play makes a child surpass himself/herself and his/her skills.
Translation - Ukrainian Виготський підкреслює важливість гри в навчанні. Згідно з його ідеями, навчання та розвиток відбуваються під час соціальної взаємодії дитини із середовищем. Гра є найважливішою передумовою розвитку думок, інтересів та емоційної сфери дитини. Нові уміння та здібності, які важливі для подальшого розвитку, формуються під час ігрової діяльності, а також дитина розкриває новий вид зв’язку із середовищем. Під час гри дитина постійно впливає на «зону найближчого розвитку». Гра дозволяє контролювати та аналізувати нову інформацію, залежно від досвіду дитини, а також поєднувати з раніше засвоєною. Дитина ще не готова до самостійного життя, проте вона досягає успіху з допомогою інших.
Гра є провідною у навчанні, а навчання під час гри є необхідним. На жаль, матеріальні бази шкіл не завжди відкривають можливості для організації різноманітних ігор. Школи зосереджують увагу на навчанні та освіті та відповідно облаштовують свої матеріально-технічні бази. Погляд школи на процес навчання зорієнтований на старі традиції, а класна кімната та парти вважаються головною передумовою навчання. Розуміння гри, як чинника впливу на процес розвитку дитини та способу підтримати її всебічно, розкриває нові можливості також і для початкового навчання. У грі формується мотиваційна основа навчання, адже дитину не потрібно змушувати практикувати свої уміння. Граючись, дитина фактично самостійно дізнається про нові явища, адже захоплююча гра змушує її перевершувати себе та власні здібності.
