Born in Poland, have lived in the UK since 2005. I have always wanted to live the American Dream, no matter how tacky it may sound. Looking back into my
Diary from 1997 I read notes from my class-mates wishing me to live in New York City; not much changed ever since. I may have grown up, never grown out of the sensual affection to popcorn, multi-ethnicity, Coca-Cola, the Statue of Liberty, Pop, Rock'n'Roll and Hollywood.
Nevertheless, I am a level-headed person, interested in Intercultural Communication (on which I did my MA here, in the UK) and journalism (wrote my Masters about Intercultural Communication in British Journalism).
Please note I am not a translator; I just love languages and the philosophy of translation. I am currently learning and refreshing my German! I am very self-motivated and haven't skipped a day reading it for the last year... tap on the back. What I also love is Slavic languages, I think they're sexy. Slovak, Czech being a real turn-on ;-).
I have done a year-long apprenticeship at two radio stations in London, editing, presenting news on-air on Polish Culture Shows each Friday. It was before I started studying.
Recently I have set up a
blog. It is in Polish only, jeśli mówisz po polsku, zapraszam do czytania. Otherwise you can have a look at my post on my former employer's website
here and browse for a post from 14th Feb 2013 titled "Ponglish: Diary of a Pole". It's in English.
Why PROZ? I have cherished my love to languages and means of communication for a while now. Currently working as an Account Manager for a Luton-based translation agency, I have an opportunity to learn and get to know more about cultures, languages, possible issues in communication, paradoxes and ... people. CULTURE LANGUAGE JOURNALISM PEOPLE COMMUNICATION yummy!
