Com a redução do tamanho das incisões, fez-se necessário o desenvolvimento de lentes intra-oculares de materiais dobráveis, as quais passaram a ser introduzidas no olho através de sistemas de injeção.
Os sistemas de injeção consistem na colocação da lente intra-ocular dobrável dentro de um dispositivo semelhante a uma seringa. Este sistema possui um êmbolo e, à medida que este é movido adiante, a LIO começa a ser enrolada e comprimida, de modo a ser capaz de passar pela pequena abertura na extremidade do injetor, a qual é introduzida dentro do olho por uma incisão na córnea ou esclera. Uma vez dentro do olho, a lente se desdobra e readquire seu formato original. Para ter boa compressibilidade, foram desenvolvidas LIO’s de materiais bastante macios, o que acabou por torná-las também bastante delicadas e frágeis. With the reduction of the incisions size, it was necessary to develop intra-ocular lenses made of foldable materials, which have become to be introduced into the eye through the injection system.
The injection system consists of the intra-ocular foldable lens placement inside a device, similar to a syringe. This system has a plunger and, as it is moved forward, the IOL starts to be wound and compressed, so it can pass through the small opening in the injector’s extremity, which is then introduced inside the eye through an incision on the cornea or sclera. Once inside the eye, the lens unfolds e regains its original shape. In order to achieve a good compressibility, soft material IOL’s were developed, which made them rather delicate and fragile. Source text - English THIRTY billion dollars is a lot of money for anyone except America’s government. In Washington, “big whoop” is the expression of choice: about what the feds spend in three days, or less than 2% of the predicted budget deficit for this year. Yet in the peculiar battle that is now raging over the budget for a fiscal year already half over, $30 billion is all that now separates the Republicans and the Democrats, who have been bickering for the past 14 months over the details. Because neither side thinks it can afford to back down, the risks of a government shutdown are rising fast; without an agreement, the government will run out of money on April 8th.
Some irresponsible people, on both sides of the political aisle, think that a temporary shutdown would not matter all that much. In the short term, it is true, a shutdown would be far from catastrophic; soldiers will continue to fight; aircraft will not collide; Social Security (pension) checks will mostly continue to be automatically sent out. But it would still be highly disruptive, not least for government employees who will not get paid, and it will inconvenience people and businesses in countless ways. That is no small matter while the recovery remains so fragile. More worrying than a shutdown itself would be its implications.

Ainda assim, na peculiar batalha que está sendo travada sobre o orçamento de um ano fiscal já passado da metade, US$30 bilhões é o que agora separa os Republicanos e os Democratas, que estiverem em querela pelos últimos 14 meses a respeito dos detalhes. Já que nenhum lado considera que pode retroceder, os riscos de uma paralisação do governo aumentam rapidamente; sem um acordo, o governo não terá mais dinheiro em 8 de Abril.

Source text - English Oxicam Nonsteroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs are a group of structurally closely related substances with anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic activities. They have a weakly acidic character and are extensively bound to plasma proteins. Piroxicam, the most widely used oxicam, is well absorbed after oral administration. Peak plasma concentrations (Cmax) of the drug are reached within 2 to 4 hours. Piroxicam has a small volume of distribution and a low plasma clearance. It undergoes hepatic metabolism and only 5 to 10% is excreted unchanged in urine. The elimination half-life varies between 30 and 70 hours. Age of the patient and renal or hepatic dysfunction do not seem to have any major effect on the pharmacokinetics of piroxicam. The drug reduces the renal excretion of lithium to a clinically significant extent, but the clinical significance of piroxicam-aspirin (acetylsalicylic-acid) and piroxicam-acenocoumarol interaction has not been established.

Source text - English Japan has performed poorly since the mid-1990s, but that is mainly by comparison with its hyperachievements we all became used to in the 1970s and 1980s. Last year, having been hit hard in 2009 by the global economic crisis, Japan’s GDP rebounded strongly, by 3.9 percent. Its longer-term record since 2000 has not been great, but given that—thanks to a low birthrate and negligible immigration—the population has been falling slightly, income per head has fared rather better than the headlines suggest.
The only economic doubt worth contemplating concerns deflation, or rather inflation. Prices have been falling in virtually every year since 1997, pulling wages and consumption down with them. The one risk associated with the disaster is that this might change. The crisis will create shortages and has anyway destroyed some productive capacity. Money will be poured in as the reconstruction effort gets underway. With this happening at a time when global energy and food prices are also rising, there must be some risk of deflation turning into inflation in Japan.

Ano passaddo, tendo sido brutalmente atingido pela crise econômica global de 2009, o PIB do Japão retrocedeu fortemente, em 3,9%.
