Translation - English Feminist literary criticism, as I understand it, is identified first and foremost with the writings of Elaine Showalter, who analyzes the purpose of the feminist position in reading, writing and analysis of fiction and other texts. This position focuses on detecting and decoding the covert connections between textuality and sexuality, both general (generic) and gender-related; between sexual psychological identity and cultural authority. The quest is undertaken through a return to the history of western culture and a reinterpretation of its central texts. Other women intellectuals present similar ideas: Virginia Woolf talks about the "rewriting of history"; Adrienne Rich argues that women's writing must start with a new look at the past; Carol Heilbrun suggests that women must re-invent femininity; and Joan Kelly declares that women must be restored to history, and history restored to women. Orly Lubin's book, "Women Reading Women" (Heb.) , which was preceded by an article with the same title , was the first to propose a feminist history of reading in the Israeli context, and had a decisive influence on the development of literary criticism in Israel. Her book joins the list of outstanding primary works in this sphere, and was one of my main sources of inspiration. In Lubin's view, reading is a tool of survival. Reading, in this world of concepts, always means critical reading; awareness of the location of the reader in relation to the text and the contexts in which it is created. My proposed book resonates with and connects two identity-forming experiences: the experience of survival, and the experience of reading.

Source text - English A “Facelift” for the lobby in the Judaism building
The Israel and Golda Koschitzky Judaism building was the first structure built at the Orot Israel College campus in Elkana. In 1986 the College moved from Petah Tikva to its permanent site in Elkana, commencing its activities in the Judaism building which remains the central building of the campus.
The lobby serves as a sort of reception area for visitors to the College as well as its staff and students. Over the years, thousands of students and lecturers have met in the lobby; each day hundreds have passed through it. And until just a few weeks ago, the lobby looked just as it did 25 years ago.
Recently it was decided that the lobby should be made more attractive, as befitting a reception area. With the help of designer Tova Dermer, the lobby and the corridor leading to it were renovated, with the introduction of some new elements: the central wall features four Perspex boards, for the four decades since Orot Israel was established. Each board shows pictures against a canvas background from a decade of the College’s existence. A fifth board shows the “College Vision”. On the second wall are two plasma screens (soon to be joined by a third) showing updated daily notices for students, and information about the study tracks and specialties offered at Orot. The third wall displays the College’s regular publications – “Be-Ayin Hinukhit” and “Meorot”.
The corridor leading to the lobby now features, on one side, a “Jewish bookshelf”, displaying books published by the College, and on the other side a breathtaking series of Judaica pictures photographed by Palphot, who kindly agreed to their public display at Orot. The new look of both the lobby and the corridor also includes tasteful coloring and lighting.

בניין היהדות ע"ש ישראל וגולדה קושיצקי הוא הבניין הראשון שהוקם בקמפוס מכללת אורות ישראל באלקנה. בשנת 1986 עברה המכללה מפתח תקווה למשכן הקבע באלקנה, שם החלה את פעילותה בבניין היהדות שהוא הבניין המרכזי בקמפוס.
מאז ועד לפני מספר שבועות ה"לובי" לא שינה את פניו. אלפי סטודנטיות ומרצים עברו ונפגשו בלובי, במראהו הקודם. בלובי עוברים מאות אנשים במהלך היום: סטודנטיות, מרצים, עובדים ואורחים. הלובי, מעצם טבעו, מהווה מעין מקום לקבלת פנים לבאי המכללה.
לאחר מחצית יובל שנים, הוחלט לשנות את פניו ולתת לו צביון יותר ייצוגי הראוי לקבל את פני הבאים. בעזרתה של המעצבת טובה דרמר, שופצו הלובי והפרוזדור המוביל אליו. בלובי מספר אלמנטים: הקיר המרכזי מכיל ארבעה לוחות פרספקס לארבעה עשורים של המכללה. כל לוח מציג בתמונות על רקע קנבס, עשור בחיי המכללה. בלוח החמישי מוצג "חזון המכללה"; על הקיר השני מוצבים שני לוחות פלאזמה (בעתיד יתווסף עוד אחד) המציגים מידע עדכני יום-יומי לסטודנטיות ומידע על המסלולים ועל ההתמחויות הנלמדים במכללה; בקיר השלישי, מוצבות עמדות לדפי "בעין חינוכית" ודפי "מאורות" היוצאים לאור על ידי המכללה.
בפרוזדור המוביל ללובי, בצדו האחד "ארון הספרים היהודי" המשלב בתוכו את הספרים שיצאו לאור על ידי המכללה, ובצדו האחר רצף מרהיב של תמונות יודאיקה שצולמו על ידי חברת פלפוט, שבאדיבותה נתנה את הרשות לתלותם במכללה.
כל אלה, גם בפרוזדור וגם בלובי, מוצגים על רקע צבע ותאורה שנעשו בטוב טעם.
