While Liechtenstein still offers discretion and privacy from probing tax authorities, Singapore is proving itself an attractive rival.

The tiny principality of Liechtenstein has spent decades building a reputation as the savvy investor’s choice for offshore banking, known for its stringent adherence to banking secrecy principles. However, in August the authorities publicly announced plans to cooperate with other states in tax evasion cases. After years of coming under fire from the German government, the principality has finally embraced new transparency laws.
The goal, according to Otmar Hasler, Liechtenstein’s prime minister, is to repair its reputation as a ‘legitimate financial centre’ and do away with its infamous role as a tax haven for international hot money. Nevertheless, the road to transparency is not necessarily paved with gold. In particular, talk of a pending investor exodus and capital flight out of Liechtenstein is already making the City gossip rounds.
Since Heinrich Kieber, a former LGT Group employee, sold a disc containing client information to the German government for €5 million, Liechtenstein has been under pressure from not only Germany but also the EU and US. Kieber’s disc contained financial details about investments totalling €4 billion which belonged to about 1,000 wealthy Germans who had failed to disclose these holdings to the German authorities. Once the files became public, Germany, Britain, Italy and the US started to investigate their citizens with Liechtenstein accounts.
The tide turned when, in September, Liechtenstein’s parliament adopted several EU directives into national law, including an EU Transparency Directive, the Disclosure Act and the Data Protection Act, which allowed Liechtenstein to join the Schengen area. A new executive branch, known as the Data Protection Unit, was also established, with a new data protection commissioner elected by parliament. The new body’s aim was to highlight the data-protection vis-à-vis the executive branch of the state.

Source text - Russian C чего начинается процесс протезирования за один день?
Со сканирования зуба, который нуждается в коронке. Сканирование поверхности зуба производится в моем офисе сканером компании Sirona. Затем при помощи специальной программы мы с моей помощницей делаем дизайн будущей коронки, то есть изготовляем 3D-оптический слепок и уже в смоделированном виде отправляем изображение на печать. Раньше я делала слепок коронки и посылала его в лабораторию. Техник воспроизводил коронку по слепку без знаний особенностей прикуса у того или иного пациента. Вот и получалось, что когда коронка возвращалась из лаборатории и примерялась пациенту, она или не всегда идеально «садилась», или из-за особенностей строения челюсти пациента мешала правильному прикусу. В таком случае, я отправляла коронку снова на шлифование в лабораторию, а пациенту приходилось в очередной раз приезжать в клинку для новой примерки и, в конечном итоге, для замены временной коронки на постоянную. Этот процесс мог затягиваться на несколько недель.

Сейчас же, имея специальное оборудование в своем офисе, я, как лечащий врач, могу проконтролировать весь процесс протезирования от начала и до конца. Еще одно очень важное преимущество новой технологии — это то, что сканированный и обработанный имидж поставленной коронки навсегда остается в моем компьютере. И, если не дай Бог у человека треснула коронка из-за, например, раскусывания орехов или по какой-то другой причине, то он в любое мгновение может обратиться ко мне в офис и тут же получить новый зуб. Ну, и самое главное — то, что технология Same Day Crowns позволяет экономить драгоценное время пациентов.
Translation - English How does the Same Day Crown process start?
First, we scan the tooth that needs to have a crown placed. The tooth surface is scanned in my office by a Sirona scanner. Then my assistant and I use special software to design the future crown. In other words, we create a 3D optical impression and send this completed model to 3D printing. I used to make a dental impression of the crown and send it to the lab. A technician would recreate the crown from the impression with no knowledge of the particular patient's bite. So the crown would sometimes come back from the lab and be placed on the tooth, and it wouldn't always fit quite right or would interfere with proper bite due to the specific patient's jaw structure. I would then send the crown back to the lab to be reshaped, and the patient had to schedule a new fitting in order to have the temporary crown replaced with a permanent one. This could take weeks.
Having the special equipment in my office, I, as the dental care provider, can now monitor the tooth replacement process from start to finish. Another important advantage of the new technology is the fact that I retain a scanned and processed image of the installed crown on my computer forever. If, heaven forbid, the crown cracks because the patient was cracking nuts with their teeth or for any other reason, they can always come to my office and instantly have a new tooth. The main thing is that Same Day Crowns help us save the patients' precious time.
