Bio
I am British, but grew up in France, learning French as a second mother tongue. I completed the French baccalaureate and then moved back to the UK to do a degree in Modern History at the University of Oxford.

I have seven years experience translating both from French into English and from English into French in a wide range of fields: translation of dawba and youthinmind websites into French for Robert Goodman, Professor of Brain and Behavioural Medecine at King's College London; proof-reading and translation from French into English of technical documents for Tarkett Sports; translation into English of French articles on psychology for leading Paris-based agency Anyword (55,000 words).

However, my experience of writing in French extends beyond simple translation. Whilst working as the website editor for History Today magazine, I took advantage of having ready access to British Foreign Office documents held at the National Archives to research British views of the Algerian War of Independence with France and wrote an article for the French national magazine Le Point. I was subsequently contracted by the French publisher Calmann-Lévy to co-author a book in French on British views of French 20th-century history: Dans le secret des archives britanniques (September 2012). I am the sole translator into French of all the Foreign Office documents used in the book, a project which ripened and reaffirmed my translation skills and confirmed my decision to pursue a career in translation.
