이처럼 활발한 해외 M&A로 일본 기업의 해외 투자액은 올해 들어 현재까지 340억 달러에 달했다. 이런 추세가 이어진다면 올해 전체 해외 투자액은 연간 기준으로 최대를 기록했던 지난해의 840억 달러와 비슷할 것으로 추산된다.

This is the largest overseas acquisition (M&A) by a Japanese company so far this year and the seventh biggest globally.
Last week, Japan Tobacco said that it would acquire a Belgium tobacco company, Gleason NV for $600 million, and Takeda Pharmaceuticals said that it would acquire a Brazilian pharmaceutical company for $246 million.
In addition Mitsubishi Corporation is expanding its investment in overseas resources in Indonesia and even domestic companies such as beer maker, Asahi and toy maker, Tommy are heading for overseas M&A.
Active overseas M&A like these have already resulted in Japanese companies’ overseas investment to reach $34 billion so far this year. It is estimated that if this trend continues the annual overseas investment for this year would be similar to last year’s maximum annual record of $84 billion.
Japan's overseas investment last year was close to three times more than the value it had invested in purchasing Rockefeller Center, Universal Studios and others in1980s and 1990s. Last year Japan's overseas investment global ranking rose to 3rd position from its previous year’s 9th position.

Translation - English Drawn from western medieval Christian thoughts, human serves god and recognizes nature as a consumable object created for human life, and as the object of conquest. World was understood as the imitation of god, and the beauty of nature felt by the human was thought as the creation of god. The organic view of nature transitioned to a mechanistic view since the establishment of an objective attitude about the nature in 17th century which was an era of Galileo and Descartes, and in 15~ 16 century which was an era of Baroque.
Galileo was only able to quantify nature because he considered nature as a mathematical quantity. Descartes considered nature in terms of geometry and mechanics, and thus mechanically viewed all natural objects including living things. In the 18th century, which was an era of enlightenment, Newton solved all movement problems by a deterministic view of nature considering total movement as set of sub movements. He introduced absolute time and space as a natural thought of nature and identified nature by mechanical movements. Since the industrial revolution, materialistic thinking became more prevalent as human society started emphasizing more on the importance of materials. This materialistic thinking showed sensational monism since world was viewed in terms of strength and materials due to succession development by the scientific materialism of nature; the scope of the conceptual view of nature thus extended into the areas of practical and empirical thoughts. With a breakthrough in modern physics, we will have a new perspective on nature. Quantum theory says that the happening of any incident cannot be explained in terms of absolute objectivity because the incident can be purely a matter of coincidence. World is said to me made of incidents (interaction) and not of materials. The 20th century saw the transition in people’s interest from materials to incidents and they started talking about the logic of totality. Criticism about the western science and civilization, and ecological issues such as environmental degradation started to emerge. Source text - Korean 지난 몇 년 간 자국 건설산업 경쟁력을 높이기 위해, BIM을 도입한 정부 정책 지원으로 인하여, BIM 정보가 급격히 늘어나고 있으며, 이와 관련해, Building Information Modeling과 Geographic Information System의 객체 정보를 통합하거나 맵핑하기 위한 연구의 필요성이 높아지고 있다. 이런 연구들은 BIM과 GIS의 장점을 활용하기 위한 목적에서 진행되고 있으나, 서로 다른 스키마 구조로 인해, 모델 통합 및 맵핑에 많은 어려움이 있었다. 본 연구에서는 BIM과 GIS표준 모델인 IFC와 CityGML을 이용해, Graphic Process Unit 다중 프로세싱 기반 IFC에서 CityGML로 Level Of Detail 맵핑을 자동화하는 방법을 개발해, 맵핑 작업의 생산성을 개선하려 한다. 제안된 방법을 사용하면 기존 방법과는 달리 다중 프로세싱을 이용함으로써 LOD형상 모델링 작업 생산성을 극적으로 개선할 수 있다. 최종적으로 개발된 결과를 정량적으로 평가하고, 향후 연구 방향을 도출한다.
Translation - English Over the last few years, to increase the competitiveness of domestic construction industries, the Korean government has introduced Building Information Modeling (BIM) as part of its support policy; as a result, BIM information is increasing rapidly. In this regard, the need for studies on integrating or mapping BIM object information to Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is increasing. These studies have been conducted with the purpose of utilizing the advantages of BIM and GIS; however, many difficulties are encountered in model integration and mapping because of the different schema structures of such studies. In this study, the productivity of the mapping work is improved by developing a method that automates the Level of Detail (LOD) mapping using BIM and GIS standard models, a graphic process unit-based multiprocessing Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) model, and the CityGML model. The proposed method can dramatically improve the productivity of LOD shape modeling work because, unlike conventional methods, the proposed method uses multiprocessing. Finally, the developed results are quantitatively evaluated and future study directions are derived.

A 24-year-old woman has died and another has been injured in a shooting in Kilburn, North London, in the early hours. Both were taken to hospital, where one was pronounced dead, after reports of shots being fired at about 04:20 BST. Detectives from the Police's gang crime investigation unit, are at the scene in Kilburn High Road. The second woman, also 24, remains in hospital where her
condition is not said to be serious. Officers are not releasing the identities of the two women at this stage. No arrests have yet been made and local road closures remain in place.

In September, King County will begin work to replace its 50-year old Factoria Transfer Station with a new recycling and transfer station. The new facility will expand the household hazardous waste collection area and include collection of recyclable materials such as yard waste, appliances, scrap metal and clean wood. Waste compactors will decrease the number of transfer trailer truck trips required to and from the station.
The new facility will be built in the same general area as the existing transfer station. Construction is expected to last from Sept. 2014 until Dec. 2017. The existing station will remain open to customers throughout construction, and notification will be provided to customers on any potential impacts.
As a neighbor of the facility, you will receive regular project updates from the King County Solid Waste Division throughout the multi-year construction project. If you do not want to receive these updates, please contact us at the number (on the back) and we will take you off our mailing list.

이 영화의 시작과 끝에 나오는 치킨을 쫒는 장면은 이 도시에 사는 불쌍한 아이들의 현실을 보여준다. 닭은 그 아이들의 모습을 대변하는 것 같이보인다. 닭이 이 저주받은 도시에서 벗어날수없고, 그렇다고 가만히 있다가는 죽음을 맞이할 수 밖에 없는 운명인 것처럼 아이들의 현실도 그러하다. 닭의 죽음은 이 영화에서 끝끝내 나오지 않는다. 이것은 관객들에게 닭, 즉 아이들의 운명이 어떻게 될지 생각해 보라는 감독의 의도라고 볼 수있다. 닭은 도망치다보면 살수도 있지만, 결국 누군가에게 잡혀 먹힐 수도 있다. 빈민가의 아이들이 처한 현실이 그러하다는 것을 보여주는 것이다.
당시의 시대배경을 통해 영화속에서도 인종차별과성차별을 찾아볼수있다. 시티오브갓에는 백인의 비중이 그리 많지않다. 주인공을 포함한 이 영화를 이끌어가는 모든 인물은 검은피부를 가지고 있다. 그와 대조적으로 빈민가에서 벗어나 신문사에는 소위 말하는 중산계층에는 백인들의 모습을 많이 찾아볼수있다. 캐스팅에서 보여주듯이 하층계급, 마약과 폭력과 연관지어지는 것은 흑인이라는 인식을 영화는 보여준다. 물론 사실을 바탕으로 한 것이기 때문에 빈민가에는 흑인이 많고, upper class는 백인이 많았을 수도 있다. 인종차별로 볼 수 없다면, 백인과 흑인의 배역과 비중은 그 당시 상황을 보여준 것이라고 생각할 수 있다. 뿐만 아니라, 대부분의 인물은 남자이다, 여자인물은 그렇게 많은 조명을 받지 못한다. 누군가의 여자친구, 강간을 당한 빈민가의 불쌍한여인으로 밖에 표현되지 않는다.
그들의 의상또한 빈부격차를 보여주는 하나의 단서이다. 시티오브갓의 아이들과 사람들은 대부분 아주 허름한 옷을 입고있다. 그들 중 대부분은 신발조차 없이 맨발로 거리를 해매고 다닌다. Li’lze가 세력을 확장하려고 할 때 주변 사람들의 옷과 빛나는 장신구들을 보며 자신보다 돈이 많은 그들에게 시비를 걸며 자신도 저들처럼 저런걸 가질것이다라고 생각하며 마약사업을 확장하고 돈을 번다. 특히 benny는 마약에 중독되어 버린 부자백인 Tiago의 옷을보며, 어디서 그런옷을 구했냐며, 그런 세련된 옷을 사다달라며 돈을 준다. 베니의 옷의변화가 그를 cool guy로 변화시키고, 조금더 중산층처럼 보이게 한다.
영화에는 teenager가 총을 들고 서로서로를 죽이는 장면이 많은데 이는 그 당시의 아이들이 이런 사회속에서 생존하기 위해서 폭력과 범죄를 배우는 잔혹한 현실을 반영한다. Cinema novo의 대표적인 영화인 시티오브갓은 비단 브라질만의 이야기는 아닐 것이다. 세상의 희망인 아이들을 사회가 방치했을 때 시티오브갓과 같은 사태가 일어 날것이라는 경각심을 세계에 일꺠워준것이다. 잔임함과 폭력적인 장면을 극단적으로 표현함으로써 그 자극은 관객들에게 더욱더 크게 다가갔을 것이며, 이 세상 어디에도 이와 같은 도시가 없어져야 함을 말하고자 한 것이다.

Rocket, the main character of this movie, is very much interested in cameras and has a dream to become a photographer. Since this film is described with his point, shutter sounds can be often heard during character description or in every scene. When describing about the characters, the scene stops with a shutter sound. Rocket has been shown as a link between ghetto and general upper class, and in this connection the camera is an item that cannot be removed .The audience's concentration reaches to a peak at the end of the movie when Li’lze dies. At that time, Rocket plays a role of showing this scene to the audience through the camera. As if his camera is described and represented as the eyes of audience. The role of the camera in this film is as much important as this film.
“City of God”, which is the title and the background, is a hopeless city. Even though the city is discarded by God, this city, which is stricken by the darkness of crime and poverty, is paradoxically called as the “City of God”. Here, “City of God” refers to Brazil 's ghetto, however, it doesn't mean that there is a god in that place, and anyone from that place can become god or it means that a place where humans cannot live.
Background music used in this movie plays a big role in understanding and interpreting the movie. The background music during the death of Shaggy helps in inducing sad emotions of death in the audiences. The background music when Rocket goes to bring marijuana for Angelica, who was loved by Shaggy, shows Rocket's restless heart and cheerful happiness. “Get up” was inserted when Benny turns to a playboy due to Tiago. This together with lyrics shows Benny dating a girlfriend and becoming stylish. Brazilian song is also introduced in this movie, however, many popular songs were released after that and the audience got immersed in those. In particular, the song introduced during the confrontation of Benny and Li’lze in the welfare party of Benny is a famous kungfu fighting. This song well shows the cheerfulness of the party as well as confrontation between them. Although somewhat shocking but the thing that well shows the intention of the film maker is the background music when they commit murder. The filmmaker has rather inserted a light music during violent and cruel scenes. This pinchingly shows the disregardness of Benny and Li’lze, who live in ghetto, towards severity of murder and that they think murder as one of the funs of their daily life
In this movie, instead of professional movie actors, local amateur actors of ghetto area were casted. Because of this reason, actors’ performance was natural and realistic. Their performance had a persuasive ability because the actors well understood the situation and expressed their acting accordingly. The realistic performance of committing the murder of young child actors, smoking marijuana, and indulging in violence by involving in criminal gangs could well show the severity of society of that time to the audiences.
Chasing chicken scenes shown at the start and end of the movie shows the reality of poor children living in this city. Chickens seem to represent the state of the children. The chickens cannot escape from this cursed city, but there is no choice other than meeting the fate of death when chickens stop running; the reality of children is same as the fate of the chickens. This shows the intention of filmmaker to make audience to think what would be the fate of chickens or in other words the fate of children. Even if the chickens escape they can also live, however, they would be eventually be caught and eaten by others. The reality faced by the children of ghetto is shown as it is so.
Racial discrimination and gender discrimination can be seen even in the movie through the background period of that time. The proportion of whites is not much in "City of God”. All the lead characters in this movie including the hero are with black skin. However, many whites belonging to so-called Zhongshancan class can be found in the newspaper company located outside the ghetto. This movie shows that the lower caste are recognized as black since they are involved in drugs and violence as shown in the casting. Of course, because this recognition is based on the fact, there can be many blacks in ghetto, and whites in upper class. It is considered that the proportion and casting of white and black shows the situation of that time if viewed in terms of racial discrimination. Besides this most characters are male, and female characters are not so much seen except few characters shown as someone's girlfriend, poor raped women of ghetto.
Their costumes is also one of the clues that shows the gap between the rich and poor. Most children and people in "City of God" are wearing very shabby clothes. Among them most walk on barefoot without even shoes. When Li’lze wants to expand her influence, seeing the cloths and shinning jewelry of the surrounding people, Li’lze thinks that she can achieve the same confidence as that of those rich people, and earns money by expanding drug business. In particular, seeing the dress of Tiago, who was addicted to drug and abandoned, Benny wants to obtain such dress and gives money to Tiago to purchase such dress. The change of Benny's dress turns him to a cool guy and he looks little more like a middle class.
There are many scenes of teenagers holding guns and killing each other in this movie, and this reflects the cruel reality of children of that time made to commit violence and crime to survive in such society. “City of God", which is a representative movie of “Cinema Novo”, is not just the story of Brazil. The movie creates an awareness in the world that the world can become similar to "City of God" if the children who are the hope of the world are neglected by the soceity. ◆떠오르는 청년국가 베트남 (1)◆
참전 영향으로 우리나라 사람들에게 낯설지 않은 이미지를 갖고 있는 베트남. 그러나 베트남 현지에 일찌감치 진출한 국내 기업과 정부 관계자들은 이러한 생각에 강한 반대 의견을 제시한다.
현지에서 오랫동안 근무한 사람들이 경험을 통해 전하는 베트남에 대한 오해 몇 가지를 소개한다.
◆ 베트남은 동남아 국가다?＝베트남은 남북으로 국토 길이가 1650㎞로 길어 하노이를 중심으로 한 북쪽과 호치민(옛 사이공)을 중심으로 한 남쪽간에 기후 와 사고방식 등에서 많은 차이를 보인다. 남쪽은 열대성 몬순기후로 태국 인도 네시아 말레이시아 등 다른 동남아국가와 비슷하지만 북쪽은 아열대성 기후로 동남아보다 동북아에 가깝다.
하노이에 사는 한 기업인은 "한국인한테서 '반팔 티셔츠를 입고 보내는 크리스 마스가 어때?'라는 질문을 많이 받지만 겨울철 하노이는 기온이 섭씨 10도 정 도로 춥다”며 "일반적 인식과 달리 계절별로 날씨 차이가 있다”고 말했다.
◆ 베트남도 중국식 개방정책을 택하고 있다?＝베트남이 중국을 좇아 86년부터 도이모이(쇄신)정책을 취하면서 개방ㆍ개혁에 나섰지만 중국에 비해서는 사회 주의적인 성향이 더 강하게 남아 있다. 베트남은 주요 정책을 결정할 때 공산 당 창시자인 호치민이 채택했던 만장일치제를 여전히 활용하고 있다. 그만큼 의사결정이 느리고 지연되는 때가 많다.
◆ 베트남전 참전에 대해 반감이 있다?＝베트남 사람들은 한국이 베트남전에 참전한 것은 미국 압력이 있었기 때문으로 생각한다고 한다. 전투가 치열했던 중부지역 전쟁 세대 중 일부가 반한 감정을 가질 수는 있겠지만 이는 극히 소 수로 사회적으로 반한 감정이 전혀 드러나지 않는다는 지적이다.
◆ '라이따이한'이 심각한 사회문제다?＝베트남전쟁 기간에 한국인 남성과 베 트남 여성 사이에서 태어나 현지에 남겨진 2세 '라이따이한'도 베트남 내에서 는 전혀 문제가 되지 않고 있다는 지적이다. 라이따이한 숫자가 1000명 정도에 불과한 데다 대부분 30대 성인으로 성장해 더 이상 한국에 연연하지 않는다는 것이다.
◆ 베트남어는 한국어와 전혀 딴판이다?＝베트남어는 현재 문자로 알파벳을 사 용하기 때문에 우리 말이나 글과는 전혀 관계가 없는 것처럼 보인다. 그러나 베트남은 중국 남부와 국경을 접하고 있는 나라로 한자문화권에 속해 있다.
발음에 한자음이 그대로 남아 있는 것이 많아 우리말과 소리가 비슷한 단어가 많다. 예를 들어 주의(注意)는 '주이'로, 감은(感恩ㆍ감사)은 '감언'으로 발음 한다.

◆ Is Vietnam a Southeast Asian country? ＝Vietnam’s land length from north to south is 1650 km and its climate and peoples' mentality in north around Hanoi and south around Ho Chi Min City (formerly Saigon) shows significant differences. The south has a tropical monsoon climate similar to Southeast Asian countries like Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia, however, the north with a subtropical climate is more similar to Northeast Asian countries than Southeast Asian countries.
A businessmen living in Hanoi said "Koreans asked me many times 'how about spending Christmas by wearing a short-sleeved T-shirt?', however, winters in Hanoi are cold with 10 degree Celsius"; he further said "Unlike the common perception, the weather differs by seasons"
◆Has Vietnam chosen the Chinese open-door policy? ＝Vietnam followed the Chinese footsteps and started open-reforms by adopting Doi-moi (reforms) since '86, however, its socialist inclination remained stronger compared to China. When deciding major policies, Vietnam still uses a consensus system that was adopted by the communist party founder, Ho Chi Min. Hence, the decisions are often slow and delayed.
◆ Is there a hostility towards Vietnam war participants? ＝ Vietnamese think that Korea participated in Vietnam war under the pressure of U.S.A. Some generations of the family in the central region where fierce war took place have a negative sentiment, however, because this accounts a very small number, such sentiments are totally invisible in the society.
◆ Is 'Lai Daihan' a serious social problem? ＝Vietnam has absolutely no problem with the second generation of ‘Lai Daihan' who were born to Korean fathers and Vietnam mothers and are currently residing in Vietnam. There are only about 1000 Lai Daihan most of them in their adult 30s and no longer having any attachment with Korea.
◆ Is Vietnamese language totally different from Korean language? ＝Vietnamese language seems unrelated to Korean writings or speech because it presently uses alphabets for writing letters. However, Vietnam is strongly influenced by the Chinese culture as it borders with China in the South.
Vietnamese still extensively uses sounds of Chinese charcters in pronunciation and hence has many words with sounds similar to Korean language. For example, the respective words for 'thanks' and 'caution' in Korean and Vietnamese language have similar pronounciation.
