이 명령은 PATH와 아주 유사하다. 우리가 PATH를 지정하면 현재의 작업경로가 아니더라도 PATH로 지정된 디렉토리내의 com,exe,bat라는 확장자를 가지는 파일을 찾아 실행시킬 수 있다. 그러나 데이타 파일의 경우는 PATH를 지정하였더라도 찾지 못한다. 데이타 파일에 대한 경로를 지정하는 명령은 APPEND 명령이다.

When we designate PATH, we can search for and execute, even if not within the present work route, files with com, exe, bat extensions within a directory designated by PATH. However, in the case of data files, designating PATH will not find them. The command for route designation of data files is APPEND.
