I'm Olivia, English/Slovak translator & interpreter based in Edinburgh UK. I'm passionate about writing, editing, literature & culture.

I've been working as an interpreter for several UK agencies for over 7 years, conducting face-to-face consecutive and simultaneous interpreting from English to Slovak and Czech (and vice versa) in a
wide range of situations (public service, non profit, construction, legal, medical, business)

I have a background in teaching English, in Russia and France and have completed several translations, including subtitles & QA (proofreading) for several foreign documentaries and several TV show episodes.

Education:

2014 - 2015 University of Edinburgh - MSc Creative Writing

2009 – 2013 University of Glasgow - MA English Literature and Russian, plus courses in Spanish, Philosophy, Slavonic Studies

2007- 2009 - British International School Bratislava

Subjects - English literature, French, Biology, Geography, Art, Math Studies. Was awarded the International Baccalaureate Diploma.
