Source text - English Mama, listen. I am not your child, I am what became of your child. I found an old baby picture of me. And it was somebody else, not me. It was somebody pink and fat who never heard of sick or lonely, somebody who cried and got fed,, and reached up and got held and kicked but didn't hurt anybody, and slept whenever she wanted to, just by closing her eyes. Somebody who mainly just laid there and laughed at the colors waving around over her head and chewed on a polka-dot whale and woke up knowing some new trick nearly every day...

Translation - English When Marianna began to write about her life she was not claiming to be an author. Such a pompous title had not even occurred to her in jest. It was just, as she was walking in the rambling corridors of her soul, during psychoanalysis, that writing became for her the thread that would help her find her way out of the dead end. She felt she would get lost if she didn’t record what was happening during that process. Pondering and exploring the irritating blockage in her soul’s have, she had found the most suitable path to the glades. On that infinite inner journey, through the painful but magical process of the analysis, she’d find a place where is could find, temporarily, rest and comfort.
Since the analytic process in based on free association, she had traveled endless times to the past, especially to her early childhood years.
Her first family was created when her father, Nikitas Pavlou married her mother Aglaia X.
When Marianna used X she had no intention to hide her mother’s last name. She just wanted to imply that in order for the social core of her family to be formed, her mother had to forget her own last name. In the specific smal country environnent where she lived, deeply rooted habits made her forget her first name too as time went by. So, she became Nikitena, meaning Nikitas’ wife, and she would only remember her name vaguely and occasionally whenever she gave birth to her children, το throw back into the well of oblivion after every labor. Aglaia’s first passing awakening, the memory of her own identity that is, came when she gave birth to Filitsa, Marianna’s eldest sister.
The reception of the new member was even more enthusiastic than the expected one. Joy and happiness filled the hearts of the two parents, and aunt Anna-Maria’s, who was α collateral member of the family. The happy father, in a wave of a neurotic emotionalism, went as far as letting his tears flow uncontrollably.
A pink nursery room and all the baby girl paraphernalia could not exist even in Aglaia’s most daring dreams. Since the whole of the house consisted only of the couple’s bedroom and a spacious living room, Filitsa would share her parents room.
