(2) Hydrotreatment has been used as a method for upgrading heavy oil typically employing chemicals, catalysts, and ultrasound. Experiments were performed on the treatment of a Boscan crude oil with a plasma discharge in the liquid to reduce the viscosity of the oil.
(3) In this method, the hydrocarbons are produced using a reaction system that includes a reactor (slurry bubble column reactor), which houses the slurry and in which the FT synthesis reaction is performed, a supply line (gas supply section) that blows the synthesis gas into the bottom of the reactor, a filter that separates the catalyst particles from the slurry from inside the reactor, a discharge line for discharging the hydrocarbons (heavy liquid hydrocarbons) that have been synthesized inside the reactor and passed through the filter, and a mechanism that returns, to the reactor, a portion of the liquid hydrocarbons discharged through the discharge line, thereby washing the filter.

(2) Overbased metal detergents are also added to lubricating oils to prevent or remove deposits of oil-insoluble sludge, varnish, carbon and lead compounds which otherwise form on internal combustion engine parts and for combating severe rust conditions which may be encountered during shipping or storage of machinery or exposure to out-door weather.
(3) While MoDTC compositions of formula (1) have excellent antifriction, antiwear and antioxidant properties, they are known to lack oil solubility in high viscosity index oils and/or at lower temperatures, resulting in the formation of a haze, cloudiness or precipitate, which reduces lubricant effectiveness.
