Source text - Korean 현재의 분쟁 형태에서 보여지듯, 세계는 자원의 확보를 위한 영토분쟁과 민족과 종교를 지키기 위한 내전이 점차 심화된다. 그 뒷면에는 여전히 미국과 러시아의 파워게임이 당연스럽게도 존재했고 신흥 강대국으로 발돋움 한 중국의 개입으로 무대 뒷면에 가려져 있던 이 오래된 게임은 다시 본 무대에 등장하게 된다.
이른바 새로운 냉전(A New Cold War)의 도래였다.
새로운 냉전은 도화선에 불이 붙는 것처럼 분명한 시작 지점이 존재한 것은 아니었다. 키르기즈스탄의 독립 내전과 그루지야 사태 이후 체코와 폴란드에서 벌어진 MD 체계와 관련된 미국과 러시아의 정치적 충돌 등, 마치 물이 끓는점에 도달하기 직전까지의 모습이 세계 각지에서 보여졌고 마침내 100도가 되는 순간은 남미군사동맹(SAMA)이 결성된 2013년 3월이었다.
이전부터 자원 문제로 미국과 마찰을 빚었던 브라질과 베네수엘라를 중심으로 8개국이 모인 이 군사적 움직임으로 인해 미국은 질서유지 및 세력유지를 위한 새로운 패러다임의 필요성을 느끼게 된다. 이 새로운 패러다임엔 당연히 군사력이 필요했고 EU를 비롯, 외교적 친분을 유지해온 여러 국가들을 한데 묶어 기존의 평화 유지군(Peacekeeping Force) 형태를 살짝 비틀어 MAF(Military Alliance Forces)를 창설한다.
이에 위기감을 느낀 러시아와 중국이 중심이 되어 평소 미국과 외교적 대립 각을 세웠던 남미군사동맹과 중동 국가들의 연합인 반미동맹 AUA(Anti-US-Alliance)를 결성하기에 이른다.
새로운 냉전은 3차 세계대전을 불러오진 않았다. 이들은 대외적으론 세계의 평화와 세계의 균형 발전을 주창했기에 공식적인 군사적 움직임이 불가능 했다.
그리하여 그들의 군사적 움직임은 각국이 보유한 특수부대의 몫이 되었다.
Translation - English The world is overcome with territorial disputes driven by the desire to secure resources and civil wars fueled by nationalism and religion. Behind these ever-escalating global conflicts is the longstanding power struggle between the United States and Russia. As China, an emerging world power, enters the scene, the old contest takes the center stage once again.
A New Cold War has begun.
Sure, there was no clear inception, no single event that sparked the fuse; but there is no denying that the world has been ripe for another war. In Kyrgyzstan, ethnic tensions and conflicts demanding separation and independence have had the country in a de facto civil war state. Around the same time, the United States and Russia had a political clash over Poland and the Czech Republic entering a missile defense system with the United States in the aftermath of the Georgia-Russia crisis. The tension is at a breaking point in March 2013, when the South American Military Alliance (SAMA) is formed.
Rallying around Brazil and Venezuela, where there have been frictions over resources with the U.S., 8 South American countries agree to mutual military support and assistance. The U.S. becomes aware of the need for a new paradigm if it were to keep its place in the world power structure. The U.S. organizes the MAF, Military Alliance Forces, a slight twist on the existing Peacekeeping Forces. Member states include the EU members and other nations that the U.S. has maintained good diplomatic relations with.
Now it is Russia and China’s turn to experience a sense of crisis. Russia and China recruit the SAMA and several Middle Eastern nations that have been in opposite ways with the U.S. to form the AUA, or Anti-US Alliance.
The New Cold War did not incite a third World War. Because the countries involved publicly emphasize world peace and a balanced progress, they cannot take official military actions. Instead, all military actions are carried out covertly by the special force units of each nation.
