Bio
I hold a B.A. in English literature and currently pursuing an M.A. in the same subject from Gauhati University, Assam, India. I am a voracious reader, I love words which explains my attraction to the world to letters and the meticulous details which I have an eye for.
I am a freelance writer/translator, living and working from Mumbai, India. I’ve extensive experience in writing scripts majorly catering to television software production.
English is my strong point and I am very comfortable working in the language and this skill is probably what helps me achieve the intricate challenges in the capacity of an editor in terms of language pattern, sentence structure, formatting, grammar and punctuation while retaining the essence of what the writer wants to say through the story.
My experience as a Medical Transcriptionist has lent me very good typing as well as listening skills which go a long way in helping me achieve my targets on time and deliver jobs with impeccable quality.
Owing to my father’s transferable job, I’ve had the advantage of seeing places around India during my growing up years. I picked up languages and with time my interest has only multiplied and I keep learning newer words and terminologies from other languages spoken in my country. I speak two regional Indian languages, Bengali and Assamese besides Hindi and English and do a lot of work in all these languages which include writing/editing/translating and subtitling television scripts into English from Hindi/Bengali/Assamese for more than five years now.
