I am Swedish woman currently living in Fortaleza, Brazil for the past 2 years. As my family is multilingual I am translating from English, Portuguese (Brazilian) mainly to my native language Swedish and on some occasions the other way around.
I am constantly surrounded and aware of the nuances that each language have!
English as been my second language for a very long time. Not only being taught early in school and several times as a little girl visiting family in both Canada and USA. As and adult I interpreted english to swedish in church alot.I have been working in the Transportation brach mostly for COSCO (China Container lines) in witch the job was executed mostly in english. My love for the english language has grown over the years and when I on my freetime enjoy reading books I prefer to read them in english!
My history with Portuguese began over 15 years ago when I met my Brazilian husband. I went to Brasil with him and learned to speak fluently in 6 months..from then on I have just been building on in my vocabulary..Brazilian Portuguese is huge language..The everyday spoken language is very much influenced by different cultures as the native Indians and the African nations since the slavery..
I have been a stay at home mom for the past 3 years..Since we moved to Brazil 2 years ago I have been supporting my 2 children with the new country and language, and they are both of them now fluent in Swedish and Portuguese! Now I want to work with translation and my passion for words that always surrounds me in 3 languages. |
