- Россия впервые принимает Сурдлимпийские игры. Наталья Владимировна, как получилось, что местом проведения стал город Ханты-Мансийск?
- В нашем регионе сурдлимпийское движение имеет давнюю историю. В настоящее время сурдлимпийское движение в регионе объединяет порядка 600 слабослышащих спортсменов, 23 из которых входят в состав национальной сборной. В копилке югорчан – победы в самых крупных турнирах по легкой атлетике, лыжным гонкам, волейболу. Кроме того, Югра имеет опыт проведения соревнований всероссийского и международного уровня как среди здоровых спортсменов, так и среди людей с инвалидностью. Ежегодно на территории автономного округа проходит порядка 400 состязаний различного уровня. Еще одно преимущество столицы нашего округа – шаговая доступность объектов спортивной инфраструктуры. Мы подали заявку на проведение Сурдлимпийских игр в Ханты-Мансийске, и Международный комитет спорта глухих принял решение в нашу пользу. Мы сделаем все, чтобы оправдать доверие мирового спортивного сообщества.
- Готовы ли на сегодняшний день спортивные объекты Ханты-Мансийска принять соревнования такого масштаба?
– Все спортивные площадки, где будут проходить соревнования, соответствуют международным стандартам и готовы к всемирным Играм. Техническая делегация Международного Сурдлимпийского комитета весной этого года была с рабочим визитом в Ханты-Мансийске, и наши объекты получили высокую оценку. Соревнования по хоккею пройдут в КРК «Арена-Югра». За состязаниями по новому для нас виду спорта – керлингу – можно будет следить в Ледовом дворце спорта. Лыжные гонки, в которых будут принимать участие пять югорчан, пройдут традиционно в Центре зимних видов спорта. Горнолыжный комплекс «Хвойный урман» примет соревнования по сноуборду, на которых можно будет поболеть за нашу молодую спортсменку из Ханты-Мансийска Марию Подоровскую. Программа XVIII Сурдлимпийских зимних игр включает в себя пять дисциплин спорта глухих.
- Ханты-Мансийск постепенно становится безбарьерным городом, а какие дополнительные меры для лучшей ориентации слабослышащих спортсменов будут предприняты во время проведения Сурдлимпийских игр?
- Во время проведения Игр на территории Ханты-Мансийска будут размещены визуальные указатели, которые помогут спортсменам и болельщикам лучше ориентироваться в городе.
- Ясно, что соревнования среди глухих спортсменов будут не менее зрелищными, чем среди здоровых. Но, учитывая то, что Сурдлимпийские игры практически не транслируются на телевидении, любителям спорта мало знакомы имена выдающихся спортсменов с нарушением слуха. Как поднять интерес людей к сурдлимпийскому движению? И будут ли, на ваш взгляд, зрители на Сурдлимпийских играх?
- Это соревнования мирового масштаба. В Сочи прошли Паралимпийские игры, и купить билеты было очень сложно, особенно на командные виды спорта, где выступали россияне. Надеюсь, что и Сурдлимпийские игры также вызовут большой интерес общественности. Уже подали заявки более 450 спортсменов из 27 стран мира. На игры заявились спортсмены большого количества европейских государств, США, Украины. Мы будем рады их видеть и сделаем все, чтобы игры прошли на высоком организационном уровне. В адрес исполнительной дирекции приходят письма от болельщиков из других регионов России, которые интересуются, где купить билеты, какую гостиницу лучше забронировать. Около 100 инвалидов по слуху из США уже заявили о том, что собираются организованно приехать в Россию в качестве болельщиков. Думаю, не равнодушные к спорту люди не смогут пропустить такое глобальное по своему масштабу событие. Тем более, что вход на соревнования будет бесплатным. Для всех любителей спорта будет организована интернет-трансляция состязаний со спортивных объектов, задействованных в Сурдлимпиаде.
- С какими ожиданиями вы подходите к Сурдлимпийским играм?
- Россия впервые принимает чуть более чем за год сразу три зимних Олимпиады: XXII Олимпийские зимние игры, XI Паралимпийские зимние игры в Сочи, XVIII Сурдлимпийские игры в Ханты-Мансийске. Олимпиада и Паралимпиада прошли на высоком профессиональном уровне, и я уверена, что мальчишек и девчонок, желающих заниматься спортом, вести здоровый образ жизни, стало больше. Эстафета перешла к Сурдлимпиаде. Я надеюсь, что после проведения этих масштабных соревнований увеличится количество слабослышащих людей, занимающихся спортом, в спортшколах будут открываться новые отделения по сурдлимпийскому спорту.
- Наталья Владимировна, будет ли округ сдерживать рост цен на услуги размещения на время проведения состязаний?
- Да, достигнуты договоренности о том, что цены не только будут сдержаны, но и снижены.
- Как будут премированы югорчане в случае попадания в призовую тройку?
- Председатель Правительства Российской Федерации Дмитрий Медведев распорядился выделить денежные средства для награждения российских спортсменов, которые примут участие в XVIII Сурдлимпийских зимних играх в Ханты-Мансийске в 2015 году. За золотую медаль чемпионам заплатят 4 миллиона рублей, серебряную — 2,5 миллиона и бронзовую — 1,7 миллиона рублей. Сурдлимпийцы Югры получают те же премии, что олимпийцы и паралимпийцы. За «золото» – 7 миллионов рублей, за серебряную медаль – 5 миллионов рублей, за третье место – 3 миллиона рублей.
- Вы будете посещать соревнования Сурдлимпийских игр?
- Конечно, по мере возможности, в особенности сноуборд и лыжные гонки, где будут выступать наши югорские спортсмены. Не менее интересно будет поболеть за участников соревнований в командных видах спорта – керлинге и хоккее. Тем более, что соревнования по керлингу ни разу не проводились в Югре. Another advantage of the capital of our okrug is that athletic infrastructure is located within walking distance. We filed an application for conducting Deaflympics in Khanty-Mansiysk and the International Committee of Sports for the Deaf gave us the greed light. We will do our best not to justify the confidence of the world sports community.
- Are Khanty-Mansiysk sports facilities ready to host competitions of such a scale?
– All sports grounds where the competitions will be taking place meet international standards and are ready for the world Games. The technical delegation of the International Deaflympics Committee visited Khanty-Mansiysk in spring this year and highly praised our facilities. The hockey match will take place in Arena-Ugra Cultural and Entertainment Center. We will be able to watch the contest in curling, which is a new kind of sports for us, at the ice arena. The Center of Winter Sports will traditionally host ski races; five Ugra sportsmen will take place in them. Khvojny Urman Mountain Skiing Complex will host competitions in snowboard. We can come and support our young sportsman from Khanty-Mansiysk, Maria Podorovskaya. The program of XVIII Winter Deaflympics includes five sports for the deaf.
- Khanty-Mansiysk gradually becomes a barrier-free city and what additional measures will be taken during Deaflympics to help hearing-impaired sportsmen to orientate themselves?
- During the Games, visual indicators will be placed in Khanty-Mansiysk to help sportsmen and fans to find their way in the city.
- It is clear that competitions among hearing-impaired sportsmen will be no less spectacular than those among healthy ones. However, as Deaflympics are not broadcast on TV, sports fans know few outstanding hearing-impaired sportsmen. How can we boost interest of people in Deaflympic movement? And do you expect spectators at Deaflympics?
- These are world competitions. Paralympic Games were held in Sochi and it was very hard to buy tickets, especially for team kinds of sports, where Russian sportsmen participated. I hope that Deaflympics will also attract the public. Over 450 sportsmen from 27 countries have already filed their applications. Sportsmen from many European countries, USA, Ukraine are planning to participate. We will be glad to see them and will do everything to organize the event properly. The executive direction receives letters from fans from other Russian regions in which people ask where to buy tickets and what hotel to book. About 100 hearing-impaired fans from the USA are planning to come to Russia. I think that people who are not indifferent to sports can't miss such a significant event. Moreover, entrance to the event will be free of charge. Webcast of Deaflympic events will be organized for all sports fans.
- What do you expect from Deaflympics?
- It is the first time when Russia hosts three winter Olympic Games within a little more than one year: XXII Winter Olympic Games, XI Winter Paralympic Games in Sochi, XVIII Deaflympics in Khanty-Mansiysk. The Olympic Games and Paralympic Games were held at a high professional level and I am sure that many boys and girls have decided to play sports and lead a healthy lifestyle. Now the baton was passed to Deaflympics. I hope that after these large-scope events more hearing-impaired people will play sports and physical culture schools will open new deaflympic sports departments.
- Natalia Vladimirovna, will the orkug keep down prices for accommodating guests during the events?
- Yes, we have agreed that the prices will be reduced, not just kept down.
- What prizes will Ugra sportsmen get if they win?
- Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev ordered to allocate funds to award Russian sportsmen who will take part in XVIII Winter Deaflympics in Khanty-Mansiysk in 2015. Champions will get 4 million for the gold medal, 2.5 million for the silver one and 1.7 million for the bronze one. Ugra sportsmen taking part in Deaflympics will get the same prizes as Olympic and Paralympic Games participants: 7 million rubles for the gold medal, 5 million for the silver medal and 3 million for the third place.

Let’s start in the heart of Hannover (drone flight from the Regional Administration building in Hannover). The Region is made up of 21 towns and districts, with 1.14 million people spread over an area of 2,300 square kilometres. Whoever lives here doesn’t have to choose between nature and culture - both are just a stone’s throw away. The Steinhuder lake in the North West, the Deister hills in the South West, the Eilenriede park located right in the middle of Hannover, and our other little gem, the Herrenhausen Gardens. That’s why you can live well here and be looked after by an institution known in this area as: Region Hannover.
It controls public transport, for example, and makes sure that the buses and the trains are running. Nobody needs a car here to get where they want to go!
The Region is also responsible for rubbish collection, nature conservation and regional planning. Their duties also include looking after public health. The medical centres in Region Hannover ensure that you are never too far away from the nearest available hospital.
Region Hannover is also a reliable partner for companies. Where there are jobs people can always live well. The Region provides vocational schools for the younger generation.
Their aim is: To make it possible for all people to lead an independent life - Region Hannover helps you to do that.
The important decisions are made by the regional assembly - 85 men and women chosen from the 21 towns and districts.
The Regional Administration, headed by the Regional President, ensures that the decisions are implemented.
One of my favourite places is the Zoo, one of the Region’s companies. You can sit in a Zambezi river boat and it’s like being in Africa - without having to leave Hannover..

I’ve worked in the field for 30 years.
My knowledge of English springs from a passion for the language. Luckily, I found the way to turn a pastime into a livelihood.
A year of studies in the US gave me a unique insight into the culture, so now I have a good appreciation of the cultural differences between the two countries.
I have an extensive academic background. I am Ph.D in philology and, actually, I became a university teacher while being the fourth-year student at the same university. However, I soon turned to translation work as I thought one should acquire experience first before he starts sharing it.
I do my best to deliver high-quality translations tailored to each individual client's needs on time and within budget. I treat all material as confidential unless advised otherwise.
