The omega-3 fatty acid is excellent in improving blood clots, inflammations and blood pressure to prevent heart attack and stroke. Also, it facilitates exchange of nutrients and neural transmitters between cells and becomes a part of the brain cell membrane. Especially, as one of the omega-3 fatty acid, the DHA rich in the fish accounts for half of fats composing the brain cell membrane, plays a part in the retina and is helpful for children’s growth. The breast milk contains the DHA 30 times higher than the milk. This is one of many reasons that breastfeeding is recommended

Korean to English: Mercury General field: Science | |
| Translation - English Mercury (Hg) is the only metal which stays as liquid form at room temperature and it has been used for very long time along with lead, another heavy metal. It is still being used widely in industry and many other fields. Exposure of mercury to human body is mainly resulted from food intake, and a revelation that eating fish and shell fish regularly for a prolonged period of time is a major route for human exposure to mercury draws special attention recently, for methylated mercury is likely to be accumulated in the fish and shell fish through food chain systems in the ocean. Therefore, in order to lower the extent of human exposure to mercury, there are world-wide efforts in mercury control not only by reduction of mercury emission from its source, but also by establishment of standards for food management. |
