Source text - Swedish Vad är Priset/Ord för en normal översättning?
Svenska är ett mer kompakt språk med färre ord än det engelska språket och man skriver ofta ihop två ord till ett (Translation Service => Översättningstjänst). Följaktligen genererar Engelska till Svenska översättningar en slutgiltig text med färre ord än den engelska originaltexten. En typisk Svenska till Engelska översättning växer 10–15%. Detta kan dock variera mellan ämnen och översättarens språkliga stil. Om jag översätter en svensk text till engelska åt Dig växer den. Mitt pris kommer vara baserat på antalet ord i originaltexten, inte antalet ord i den slutgiltiga texten.
Mitt pris beror också på kvalitén på den text som ska översättas. Om texten kräver mycket utredning, korrekturläsning, tolkning, text från bilder (t.ex. skannade bilder som innehåller text som ska översättas), bildmanipulering i Photoshop för att den ska bli läsbar, termkorrigering och efterforskning, eller andra typer av redigeringar innan seriös översättning kan påbörjas, då kommer priset naturligtvis bli högre per ord jämfört med en vanlig normal engelsk eller svensk text.
Om texten är väldigt specialiserad (t.ex. många finansiella termer eller mycket ämnesspecifika nyckelord) och/eller kräver avancerad lokal anpassning (finna rätt ord och fraser i målspråket som låter naturligt för en som talar språket som modersmål) kommer priset också bli högre per ord.
Translation - English What is the Price/Word for an average translation?
Swedish is a more compact language with fewer words than in the English language and you often compound two words to one (Translation Service => Översättningstjänst); Consequently English to Swedish translations will generate a final text which contains a reduced amount of words compared to the original English text. A typical Swedish to English translation grows by 10-15%. This can however vary between subjects and translator linguistic style. If I translate a Swedish text into English for You the translated text will inflate. My price will be based on the number of words in the original text, not the number of words in the translated text.
My price will also depend on the quality of the source text intended to be translated. If the text requires much research, proofreading, interpretation, text from images (i.e. scanned images which contains the text to be translated), image manipulation in Photoshop to be readable, term correction and lookups, or other types of editing before serious translation can commence, the price will naturally be higher per word compared to a plain normal English or Swedish text.
If the text is very specialised (e.g. many financial terms or very topic specific keywords) and/or require advanced localization (finding the correct words and phrases in the target language that sounds natural to a native speaker) the price will also be higher per word.
